Do you struggle with finding contentment in your home? Perhaps you are in a season of life where your living room is covered with toddler toys, or the room makeovers you’ve been dreaming to accomplish haven’t found room yet in the budget to be completed? I would be lying if I told you that I’ve never struggled with this feeling – I completely have. Friend, I am no stranger to these feelings, I only know how real they can be and how loud they can get inside our heads. I have definitely struggled with these feelings more than once over the past 10 years – almost 20 if I’m thinking back to my first apartment, and over the past almost two decades, I’ve learned a few ways to fight back the feelings of discontentment and to fall in love with the four walls that surround me once again.
New Home Office
Today I am sharing with you a brand new space from our (new to us) home. One that you have not seen before, and didn’t even make the cut in the New Home Tour (shared HERE), or the New Home Tour video (shown HERE). This room is located in the front of our house, just off of the kitchen, and when we first moved in it served as a space to hold moving boxes we were still going through. It was great to be able to shove some boxes off to the side (out of sight) when we first moved in and were unpacking, which is why this room never made the cut. But I’m happy to say we now have this room up and functioning as a home office, and I can’t wait for to see the transformation!
Embracing Winter
For years, I always felt like the winter season should be summed up to just the month of December, where the holidays are the main focus, and then I would rush off to “wishing” away the next 3 months in hopes of an early spring. But I found that in doing so, I was robbing myself of the gift that the winter season can be. Yes I realize I just said that the winter season can be a gift, and before you think I’m crazy allow me to explain. Winter isn’t just meant to be summed up as the time when Christmas comes, and then we hurry off to the next season. There are tiny gifts tucked away in what can seem like an endless cold and dark season. Ones that I’ve begun to unpack for myself. So today, I’m sharing my thoughts on this underrated season, and how we can Embrace Winter together.
How to Create a Gallery Wall
When it comes to hanging things on the walls in our home there is nothing I love more than creating gallery walls. I sometimes wonder if it speaks to my teenage years where I would cover the walls in my room with giant collages of cut out pictures from magazines. There are many different ways you can create a gallery wall, and styles depending on the frames you choose and how you group them. I recently added a new gallery wall in our living room, so today I’m going to share my process with you in how I go about choosing art to create a gallery wall.
Sources from our New Living Room
can’t even tell you how excited I was to read all of your sweet comments about the progress that has happened in our new Living Room. I’m still referring to it as our “new” living room, because well compared to our previous living room, this one still feels new! I shared in my previous post how when we first moved into our new home, the living room area definitely had me stumped. But I knew that if I focused on the things I could change, rather than the things that I couldn’t – like the off centered windows, or weird layout, that I could create a space that I loved. And it showed, and you all agreed at how much the progress in our living room really transformed the space. Even though I used pretty much everything we had from our previous living room, there were still a few new things we brought into the space, so today I’m sharing the sources from our “new” living room.
Living Room Progress and the Gift of Home tour
aring today. If you missed Day 1, you can see it HERE, and remember each blogger who is sharing in this blog hop is also giving away a copy of my NEW book!! You can enter for a chance to win on each blog, so be sure to stop by and visit! I debated on whether I should share something I loved most about our previous home, or if I should share something I love most about our new home. Of course there is much to love about our new home, but I will be honest, none of the rooms feel quite finished yet. But I am a big believer in progress. Small tiny changes that make an impact over time, and new living room is getting so close! So today I’m sharing our living room progress, and the steps I’ve taken along the way.
How To Create a Space You Love | The Gift of Home
pillow that holds your favorite pattern or color? Or maybe it’s a view? I think sometimes it’s easier to pick out the things we don’t like in our homes and focus on those, but what if we flipped the narrative and focused on just one thing we loved about our home instead? Whether it’s a room, or an architectural detail, or a piece you used to decorate inside that room, I hope you all have something in your home that you love. I talk a lot about loving the space you live in, and today to celebrate the release of my new book, The Gift of Home, I’ve asked some blogging friends to join me and share something about their own homes that they love. I also thought it would be fun to kick things off by showing you the progression of our dining room in our previous home as I share some tips on how to create a space you love.

Currently Loving | vol. 6
I thought it would be fun to share some of the things that I’m currently loving. I’ve shared a few of these posts in the past, and it’s always fun to share some of things that have recently caught my eye, or I find myself not wanting to live without. In no particular order, and without rhyme or reason, here is what I’m currently loving this season.
