can’t even tell you how excited I was to read all of your sweet comments about the progress that has happened in our new Living Room. I’m still referring to it as our “new” living room, because well compared to our previous living room, this one still feels new! I shared in my previous post how when we first moved into our new home, the living room area definitely had me stumped. But I knew that if I focused on the things I could change, rather than the things that I couldn’t – like the off centered windows, or weird layout, that I could create a space that I loved. And it showed, and you all agreed at how much the progress in our living room really transformed the space. Even though I used pretty much everything we had from our previous living room, there were still a few new things we brought into the space, so today I’m sharing the sources from our “new” living room.

You can enter for a chance to win on each blog, so be sure to stop by and visit! I debated on whether I should share something I loved most about our previous home, or if I should share something I love most about our new home. Of course there is much to love about our new home, but I will be honest, none of the rooms feel quite finished yet. But I am a big believer in progress. Small tiny changes that make an impact over time, and new living room is getting so close! So today I’m sharing our living room progress, and the steps I’ve taken along the way.
How To Create a Space You Love | The Gift of Home
pillow that holds your favorite pattern or color? Or maybe it’s a view? I think sometimes it’s easier to pick out the things we don’t like in our homes and focus on those, but what if we flipped the narrative and focused on just one thing we loved about our home instead? Whether it’s a room, or an architectural detail, or a piece you used to decorate inside that room, I hope you all have something in your home that you love. I talk a lot about loving the space you live in, and today to celebrate the release of my new book, The Gift of Home, I’ve asked some blogging friends to join me and share something about their own homes that they love. I also thought it would be fun to kick things off by showing you the progression of our dining room in our previous home as I share some tips on how to create a space you love.

It’s Book Release Day!!
book, The Gift of Home, officially releases today! It’s because of you that this day is even a possibility. I started this blog because I truly believe that home is a place you should love to be in, and I wanted everyone to feel that way in their spaces. Even the meaning behind the name I chose for my blog stemmed from knowing that I can decorate my home nicely, without having to break the bank (you can read that story HERE). I have shared so much of the process of creating a spaces to love, through the lens of using my own home with you over the last decade, that to now finally have this message published in my very own book feels like the greatest honor, and I am truly grateful that you helped make this dream a reality. So to celebrate this book release day, I thought I would share more about what’s inside the book.
Merry Christmas to You!
Merry Christmas!! I hope you had a wonderful holiday yesterday, however you spent it. I know it can look very different for many people, but I truly hope that your day was filled with Joy & Peace however you spent it! As we get closer to the end of another year, I can’t help bu switch gears from holiday mode into a time to reflect. And as I reflect I think back about all that took place this past year, I also find my heart full of gratitude for all of YOU! To have you join me on this journey, and to be able to share a portion of our lived with you is a complete honor, and I find myself so very thankful for the opportunity to be able to share, and for so many of you who consistently pop in and read what I have to say. I have a few things I’m very excited to share with you as we wind down this year, so here we go!
How I Styled our Hutch for Christmas
If you have been following along on moving journey this year, then you know this year I have no shelves to style for Christmas. Our open shelves in our kitchen at our previous home were one of my favorite areas to style for Christmas. In fact it was usually the first place I would start to decorate, and I just loved the added touch the Christmas decor would add to my already favorite spot in the whole kitchen. If you haven’t seen how I styled the shelves in our old kitchen for Christmas, you can check it out HERE. However, this year instead of styling shelves, I have a new hutch to decorate! The hutch in our dining room is all decked out for the holidays, so today I’m showing you how I styled our hutch in the dining room for Christmas.
