I just love this time of the year, don't you?! The weather might not be changing where you are, but I just love all that fall represents. It's more than just changing the decor in our homes, as the temperatures change outside. It's embracing and resting in all this new season brings with it. As I look around my house, and just the subtle details that have changed as we get ready for fall, it makes me pause and reflect on the year so far, and slow down a bit after the hustle of soaking up all that summer has to offer. Seeing warm throw blankets draped on the back of the couch, and darker, warmer colors come out in throw pillows, and fall branches, it draws me in to sit down, light a candle, ... New Exterior Door Color
So I'm not sure if you caught my Instagram stories a few weeks ago, but I was on the hunt for a new exterior door color. Our house has white siding on it, but the doors are all wood original to the 1846 year our house was built. They are in decent condition, however extremely drafty in the winter, even with storm doors. We do have hopes to replace them with better more efficient doors, because I am all set watching my heat escape out of them in the winter, but in the meantime I gave them all a fresh coat of paint! ... Look How Far We’ve Come
I had a completely different post planned for today, but when Facebook pops up in your feed with a memory from 5 years ago, I knew I wanted to share that instead. Not because I want to boast on how far I've come, but it's important to look back on where we have come from. To take a moment and soak in the hard work and time we've invested to get to where we are today. You've heard the expression "Rome wasn't built in a day" and I think the same is definitely true in blogging. I've shared my thoughts about comparison HERE, and nothing can wreck you more in the blogging industry than comparing yourself to someone else's accomplishments. I think it's so important that we take a moment, and stop ... Read More about Look How Far We’ve Come
How I Prepare Our Home and Garden for the Colder Months Ahead
Hi Friend! The leaves are starting to fade and fall, the garden is slowing down, and I can feel the season gently nudging me to prepare our home for the colder months ahead. This time of year always inspires me to shift into a slower rhythm — adding warmth, soft textures, and little comforts that make home feel like a retreat when the weather turns cold. Each year, we like to take a weekend (or two) to do a little “home prep” before winter really settles in. This past weekend, we started tackling some of those tasks to prepare our home and garden for the colder months ahead — and it reminded me how much it can make the season feel calmer and more intentional. ... How to Find Furniture on Facebook Marketplace
Hi Friend! It's no secret around here that I love to find great deals on pretty much anything I'm in the market to buy. I love to hunt for bargains and search through clearance shelves, knowing I have stretched my dollars as far as they can go. One of my favorite places to look is on Facebook Marketplace. Most likely because of the convenience of being able to search through listings from the comfort of my morning chair with coffee in hand. I often get asked "How I find good furniture" on Facebook Marketplace, so today I'm sharing how I find furniture on facebook marketplace, with the hopes that it will help you find some treasures too! Let's get started! ... Read More about How to Find Furniture on Facebook Marketplace
Goals for 2025
Hi friends! Every new year, I like to begin by first reflecting on the previous year and then coming up with a goals list for the year ahead. If you caught my 2024 Recap post then you are up to date, and patiently waiting for me to reveal the secret project I finished last year (don't worry that's coming next). There is nothing I love more than the sense of accomplishment you get from crossing things off of that to-do list. Lists help me stay on track and remain focused on what to do next. And while not everything gets crossed off of the list when I think it will (remember, life happens), it fills me with motivation to keep going, keep tackling, even if it is just one small change at a ...
