So the other day I was walking around the house really wishing I had some stuff to decorate for fall. And since the decor and the funds for it are lacking, I decided to get creative and use what I already had. Nothing special, but just changed things up a bit. With this in mind, I’m hoping that towards the end of the season I can go and snag a few items at 75% off for next year, but on to what this year is looking like ๐
So I started with these bad boys :
The vases I got from Ikea 2 yrs. ago, and pretty much everything else I have had for about FOREVER.
I filled the vases with the wine corks, and centered the candles, and then wrapped the twine around the top of the vases until I got the desired thickness, like so:
And this is what I got:
I put them on our two ledges, between the living and dining room.
Next, I grabbed some unused frames I had lying around, and then dug threw my scrap book box for anything I could find that was fall-like. I grabbed some scrap book paper, some punch out letters, some cardboard I saved that was used as a backing from some previous frames, and got to creating.
Out of the smaller frame, I used an extra piece of matting, and ended up cutting out a picture of a pumpkin from a magazine that I really liked. I mean heck if I can’t duplicate the photo, I might as well frame it because it’s still pretty. HA ๐ In the larger frame I used some orange scrapbook paper, and the punch-out letters to spell fall, and also drew and cut-out a tiny pumpkin, and then kinda scrapped it together. Then I grabbed some leftover terra cotta pots I had from a summer project, and whatever else I had on hand that was fall like. i.e. candles, pine cone vase fillers, twine balls, and re-arranged some of my knick knacks to get this:
Here is a close up of the framed pictures I made. Cheesey, probably, but definitely FREE =D
Then I added one of the little terra cotta pots to a side table with a pumpkin spice candle:
And lastly, just added a few tiny pumpkins (I purchased while grocery shopping) and an Autumn candle on the ledge shelves in our dining room. Again, nothing fancy, but a little touch of the changing season.
So technically the total $$ spent was $2.99 for 5 baby pumpkins I got at the grocery store today, but other than that, everything was done with stuff I already had. So see sometimes you really don’t have to go out and buy anything to change up your decor. Just re-arranging what you already have will do just fine. Let me know what things you ended up doing with decor you already had for this lovely fall season we are having.
~Also, I know that today is the last day of the month, I have about 3 projects to post on as we conclude my self proclaimed project month, but this has been a BUSY week. So bare with me, and I hope to be able to put them up by this weekend.
~Enjoy your friday, we are headed to the fair tonight =D

Great ideas! Love the fall touches!! You’re as bad as I am! lol! I put up all my fall decor on the first day of fall! ha ha! Just couldn’t WAIT! My favorite season! Wish we lived closer so we could do some apple picking and baking together! ๐
And what a cute idea for your corks! I have a TON too! Mine are all mixed in with sea shells to give it a little more FLORIDA feel. Im sure IF we lived closer we’d go through more corks! :))
