Well, by now I’m sure that all of you
have pretty much recovered from the holidays
and gotten back into the routine.
Excuse, my disappearance act this last week.
We had quite a bit going on,
and I just finished taking down the last of the christmas decor yesterday.
YIKES.
Anyways, my big motivation was I got a new rug for the living room.
Yippee.
And we finally added the Board & Batten to our bedroom.
(you can see the first post to get an idea here.)
SO excited. Promise to get a post up on that at the beginning of the week.
Well, back to the living room.
Things are cha-cha-changing.
I know, we just moved in this past spring,
but I feel like I finally have a better vision for the space.
So here’s a breakout of what will be taking place:
new table lamps
finish wall decor
sew new throw pillows
polish knick knacks
As you can see I only have one thing crossed off, but I have big plans
to pull this room together in the next few months.
I haven’t quite decided on table lamps yet,
but I know the ones I have,
have got to go.
I settled for them years ago, when we first got married,
and never really like them.
So I’m thinking something along these lines:
All photos via pottery barn |
I really like the worn-in wood look.
But I also really like the shine of the mercury glass.
Not planning on purchasing from this source,
but I will probably try a local thrift store first,
or head to my second addiction… TARGET ๐
Also, I got the new pottery barn catalogue in the mail this past week,
YUM
here’s a few things that totally grabbed my eye:
This was the cover… LOVE that bed ๐
If you know me at all, you know my LOVE for all things white.
So naturally I love all the serve ware, and I really
like the large glass jugs on the top
of the unit as well.
I love this cool chair, and of course the table lamp
in the background.
I REALLY love all the baskets in the shelves.
Great use of space.
I really like the pendant lamps, and the cabinets in the back.
Also notice the old scales on the countertop,
would love one of those.
And I about gasped when I got to this page.
First of all the giant bus ticket wall art, so cool.
and this bench is something
I could totally picture in our kitchen under the windows ๐
And lastly, I just love bathroom cabinets like this ๐
I don’t know what it is about taking all the christmas stuff down,
that gets me in the mood to re-decorate.
But it’s almost like that boost of energy you get,
when you finally make it to the second trimester.
(sorry for the preggo term, but I have lots of friends who are newly pregnant
right now, so exciting.)
Well, here’s to a new year, new ideas, new rooms, and new life ๐
(no, I’m not pregnant, just need to clarify)
