So, I realized after I was going through all my photos for this post,
that I’m missing some π So sad.
And I didn’t get any photos of us having Easter at our house.
Oh well, I guess there is always next year right?
Anyways, we have a fairly large row of forsythia bushes in front of our house,
so after gathering all my yellow tulips and daffodils, I headed out front
to fill in the gaps with a bunch of their branches.
I’m not the biggest fan of forsythia, but it’s amazing how much the clusters of these everywhere
really made the house feel like spring π
I also added them in little touches to the mantle as well.
You can see the how I made the cute little wreath hanging in the middle
in my previousΒ post, and you can also see one of the little
bird house’s I painted these photos.
I grabbed 2 of these little wooden bird houses for $1 each on one of my trips to JoAnne’s.
So cute, right!
So I painted them each first with a coat of SW – Mindful Grey, which I already had on hand.
It was my left over sample when I was deciding which grey to use to paint the
dining room. It’s the same grey I used to paint the tone on tone stripes in the
dining room, which you can readΒ here.
Then I gave them each a white wash coat. Making sure not to cover
them completely and still let some of the grey peak through.
Now, in an earlier post, I had shared with you, my debate on painting this door with chalkboard paint.
Thanks to those who responded, and everyone was in agreement, to take a walk on the wild side.
It was just the motivation I needed, and I love how it came out!

So cool, and it was a huge hit at Easter π
The only problem is the more stuff I paint with chalkboard paint,
the more I want to find MORE stuff to paint with it π
What do you think?
Have a great Day!

I love it! I recently did an entire door in my laundry room with chalkboard paint and I love having the space to write notes on! π
Awesome space! I’ll be featuring this tomorrow!
Thank you so much for the feature! Love it! ~Bre π
Looks so lovely and springy! Those whitewashed birdhouses are darling. But the big “bang” is with that chalkboard door!
I too have a bit of a chalkboard paint problem …

Thanks Linda! I couldn’t agree with you more π ~Bre
Ok, I totally want to do that with my pantry door now. Your house is beautiful! Thanks for linking up to Lovely Things Thursday
ohh thank you so much!!! I’m already debating on doing a whole wall or portion with chalkboard paint! Go for it with the pantry door, if you don’t love it, you can always paint it back π It was fun linking up! ~Bre
LOVE that door– and your room, its lovely.
Ohhh thank you so much π ~Bre
That fireplace is gorgeous…and I love how untraditional the mantle is! As for the door…I wish I was that brave!
Thanks! The mantle is somewhat of a stumbling block for me sometimes… but it’s always fun to change it up! Be brave! One thing I have found to be more true, is when I take a chance, and really go for it in decorating… I LOVE the outcome and kick myself for not trying it sooner π SO go for it! π ~Bre
Just love the chalkboard door! Adds the perfect touch to your already great room! Way to live on the wild side!

LOVE the chalkboard door – what a great idea! I painted a smaller wall in our kitchen with chalkboard paint last summer, along with a bunch of terra cotta pots. I may have to experiment with more this summer π
