As we talked about before, defining your own style is a popular topic of conversation. No matter where you are at in this process, it’s always good to get fresh perspective. My go to for fresh perspective is Pinterest, but Houzz is another good one, and of course there is Google as well. Gaining a fresh perspective, or zoning in on one is a great place to start. Today I’m going to share with you my all time favorite pictures that if Genevieve Gorder popped up on my front porch for a makeover, I would show her these pictures as my inspiration. Sometimes you need a little fire under your butt to help you make a decision. Don’t spend too long trying to decide if the photo is your style, if it is your style, you will know instantly {usually because your jaw is one the floor, with a small trickle of drool coming out :)}. Sometimes you can pick one or two things from a photo that you love, but the rest not so much, I call those secondary photos, so today lets look at my Top 5 Inspiration picks!

So by now you might be seeing a re-accuring theme. Lots of white, natural texture, woods tones, and a neutral palette. Even by just the 3rd photo I have a great feel for my style, things that I know that I love, and a good sense of direction to turn any room into a room that I’ll love. I love the pairing of the bamboo shades with the crisp white curtains. The warm wood table with the white bench and the natural slip covered chairs is everything that I love. And again, the rug the white planked walls, all my favorites.

Even though there are no stripes in the photo above, it still sums up my style with the white walls, the warm wood tones in the bed frame, dresser, and floors, and the neutral bedding. A farmhouse feel, that’s relaxed and classic all at the same time.
To sum things up, even though I have a good idea of what my style is, I still go back to these photos if there is something in a room that just isn’t quite sitting right with me to refresh my vision. You may have heard before that a good tip is to take a look at your wardrobe and the items you wear most often. For me I really don’t tend to wear anything too trendy, I stick to the classics, and could wear a plain white tee everyday! I hope this helps you in your quest to find your style, or gives you ambition to take a second look at the things you have in your house. I challenge you to collect 5 photos of your own for inspiration, and try to apply them to your decorating. Want me to join in on your fun?! Email me your 5 photos on Facebook, and I will weigh in on your style!
