Antique Breadboards in the Kitchen

Hi Friends and Happy Friday!!! The weekend is here, and I have some exciting news I can’t wait to share with all of you! First, I wanted to show you some antique breadboards I got for our plate rack wall in the kitchen! I shared a quick peak of them on Instagram a few weeks ago, but wanted to give them more of a debut! Since we built our plate rack wall with these specifically in mind. Now 2 years later they are finally in place, and I couldn’t be more smitten with them!

Antique Breadboards for a Farmhouse Kitchen | Rooms FOR Rent BlogYou can find the breadboards here, they are one of my favorite vintage items! I love how worn in they look, and can’t wait to do a little hosting, because I think they will be perfect for serving food on as well! Can’t you picture a little outdoor summer party, with some wine, and cheese and crackers – perfect right!Antique Breadboards for a Farmhouse Kitchen | Rooms FOR Rent BlogSince our kitchen is white with very light colored gray walls {Gray Owl : Benjamin Moore}, my favorite accent to bring in is distressed wood. From making our open shelves, to making my own “Bakery” sign, these bread boards fit perfectly in our farmhouse kitchen.Antique Breadboards for a Farmhouse Kitchen | Rooms FOR Rent Blog

Antique Breadboards for a Farmhouse Kitchen | Rooms FOR Rent BlogOne of my favorite things to add to the plate rack wall is a little pop of seasonal greenery. Fresh pine branches at christmas time, crisp leaves for fall, and for summer I used a little S hook to hang this antique mason jar with some clippings from our yard. Our limelight hydrangea bushes are just starting to produce blooms, and I can’t wait until they are covered with white blooms to fill our house with.Antique Breadboards for a Farmhouse Kitchen | Rooms FOR Rent BlogYou can see more of our limelight buds on our island. I had to clip those before they got taken our by the lawn mower. They overgrow very easily (which I love!). Also on our island you see some of my other favorite pieces to use in the kitchen!Antique Breadboards for a Farmhouse Kitchen | Rooms FOR Rent BlogWhite pitchers are a must for any farmhouse, I got this large one you see below from HomeGoods a few years ago. My favorite marble cake stand, and of course our farmhouse drying rack. I love letting guests pick their favorite mug for coffee visits.

Hi Bre! Funny you mention these breadboards.. I’ve been junking the last couple of weekends and have been unable to find vintage cutting boards/bread boards. Unfortunately, there aren’t many out there anymore. I love yours! They make the wall and your rack look even warmer than it did! Headed over to Painted Fox.. Thanks!

P.s. I painted my walls Gray Owl and it came out more like an icy blue.. Your wall color looks amazing but it really does depend on lighting. My house doesn’t have nearly as much sun as yours.. .. … Beautiful home and beautiful post as usual!
