Fall Urn Planters

11/04/2015 By Bre

I have been SO enjoying this week of Thanksgiving Tablescapes!! Today is Day 3 of the tour, and it has been full of non stop inspiration. Today though I’m joining some more friends of mine for another installment of 10 Minute Decorating! Since I’ve already shared a lot on tables, I thought it would be fun to share another decor aspect for fall. When we have guests over, especially for the holidays, as much as it’s nice to care about the decor inside. Nothing greets them more then greeting them on the outside before they even walk through the front door! It’s great to put a smile on their faces before they’ve even entered your home, and todays decorating tip with certainly put a smile on faces. If you follow me on Instagram that you got to see a sneak peak of these a few weeks ago, but today I’m going to show you how I made these easy fall urn’s in 10 minutes.

These were so easy to make you are going to love it! I made two and put them on either side of the bench on our porch. First up you will need to gather a few supplies.supplies

Urn or planter

3 different variations of cabbage or fall foliage

Potting Soil

Spanish Moss

whiskey barrel rings (optional)

packing peanuts

First I filled up the urn with packing peanuts about halfway:packing peanuts

Then I poured potting soil in to fill it just below the rim. Once the urn was filled, I placed two whiskey barrel rings on top so I could gage where I wanted to place my plants.potting soil + rings

adding plants

Once all my plants where in place, I filled in the gaps with some Spanish Moss I got at Lowe’s in the outdoor garden department.spanish moss

The spanish moss is really what does the trick here. It hides any imperfections and really makes it look finished. finished
