2016 Christmas Decor Inspiration

11/21/2016 By Bre

Hi Friends! I wanted to share some of my thoughts and ideas for my christmas decor this year. I know you usually see just the after photos, but I wanted to share some of my thought process and inspiration with you. Sometimes just sharing the journey to how we get to the pretty spaces is more meaningful than the finished product itself. I tend to stick to a mostly neutral color palette to begin with. And while I love that, and I loved our Christmas decor last year, at the end of the day it felt like it was missing something. I know sounds weird right?

Our Christmas tree last year was my favorite to date, however I think this years tree is giving it a run for it’s money, and I’ll be back to share that with you tomorrow. However first, I wanted to share how I got to my decorating theme this year. As I said I was looking back at last years decor, and while their were things I just loved, I wanted something a little more? Call me crazy, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. So I decided to start looking through my entertaining images that I really loved right now and focus on what they had in them. Sure there were a lot of neutral elements, and lots of fresh greens, but they also had 2 re-ccouring colors. Navy blue, and the slightest touch of gold. 2016 Christmas Inspiration | Rooms FOR Rent Blog

I’m still keeping with my neutral color palette, but adding in some gold hues for warmth, and muted blue tones for a touch of color which will add depth to the overall color palette. I will be sharing direct sources for my ribbon choices with our tree tomorrow, but for now here are a few shapable images to help you get started if you like my new look!
