The morning were crisp, the days were cool, with the softest breeze flowing through our windows. I really thought fall was here to stay, and then BAM! We are hit with 90 degree days. Our leaves are turning into the most beautiful display autumn has to offer, and these hot and humid days have me closing our windows and turning the AC back on, ugh! Thankfully cooler temps are supposed to be back by the end of this week. So to help them along, I’m sharing my outdoor patio space decorated for fall along with 14 other bloggers and our friends at Joss & Main, part of their #designtheoutdoorsevent.
Nothing says fall to me like fresh pumpkins. In this case heirloom pumpkins, a few gourds and some seeded eucalyptus. I love that you can instantly say fall with just a few pumpkins.
We love to entertain in our outdoor patio space, and fall is the best time to use this space. The bugs start to dissipate, the cooler temps at night welcome warm fires, and dining outside is so much more enjoyable without the intense summer heat.
Along with keeping my fall pumpkin theme simple on my table, I added a linen table cloth to soften the look, which is usually unexpected outdoors, but oh so welcoming. Muted tones for fall speak to my love for neutrals, without compromising on my fall decor.
I recently picked up these brass lanterns from Target in their patio clearance, and love the warmth they add to my cooler toned pumpkins and gourds.
I don’t think it’s much of a secret that I love wicker. I love the texture it adds to a space. It’s also a great way to add in some interest without it feeling too over powering on the design as well.
One of my favorite things about these chairs is the whitewash finish already provides a “worn-in” look which I love. Not only does it jive well with the relaxed vibe I love to carry throughout my spaces it provides this mama (who graciously tries to do all things for her lovely little family) GRACE!
Yes Grace! Grace that things don’t have to be perfect, or appear perfect. That if they get slightly worn, or scratched, or heavens forbid lived in, their beautiful whitewash finish provides me with all the grace in the world of gently blending in life moments with something that is design eye candy for me!
Friends that is winning at life!! For real winning. When design and life collide in the most beautiful way, it gives us all grace and a chance to enjoy life without the pressures of being perfect, or even having to try to pretend like we have it all together, 365 days a year.
So if you are experiencing some of those cooler fall temps we are supposed to be having, please pretty please send them to your friends in New England. I’ve already put all of our beach toys away, and really don’t feel like going anymore. If you are ready for some more outdoor fall spaces, please visit my friends below. You are sure to be inspired.
