Happy New Year friends!!! I hope you are resting in reflecting with full hearts after all of the holiday celebrations, and everything that came with 2017. This past week has been FULL of spending time with family, even last night, we rang in the New Years here at home with our kids, and my sister, her husband and darling 3 yr. old niece. I have to say it truly is a highlight to see the joy on my kids faces as we celebrate the holidays, the many blessings God has poured out in our lives, and now the anticipation of what the New Year will bring.
We have spent today relaxing, catching up on laundry, putting the house back in order from all the holiday festivities, and gearing up for the kids to return to back to school tomorrow, oh yeah, and for me to get back on track with my healthy eating :/ As I was reflecting on the past year, and celebrating the New Year, I couldn’t help but think of all of you.
Some of you whom I’ve met, and most of you I haven’t met. Honestly, my eyes filled with tears. Tears of gratitude, and just complete thanks from this humble heart that you choose to join my on this journey and follow along on my blog. If it weren’t for you, I honestly don’t think that chasing my dreams would be all that exciting without having you to share it with.
I know that sounds weird given I haven’t met most of you, but I feel that somehow in my heart we’ve crossed paths on this journey of life for a reason. Maybe you just joined me, maybe you will only be here for a brief season, and some of you I know have been here since Day 1. However long you’ve been here, I wanted to say, from the bottom of my heart – THANK YOU.
You see all of these accomplishments and goals I’ve met this past year wouldn’t be possible without your support. And trust me the goals and amazing things already set in motion for 2018 wouldn’t even be happening if you weren’t here.
I can’t wait to share some of the upcoming exciting news with all of you, but first and foremost I wanted to express my sincerest gratitude. Because as I look back on the past year, and look forward to what this new year holds, you are apart of that. Every single comment, and story and kindred spirit that is connected through this blog keeps me pushing forward. Dreaming of bigger dreams, and writing down bigger goals.
Things that I often tell younger generations I had no idea in a million years when I graduated high school that this is what I would be doing, but I’m so thankful for every opportunity it brings. I can’t wait to share some of my goals for 2018 with all of you, bigger plans, bigger makeovers, and some fun projects.
But before we jump into all of that, I just wanted to take a moment on the New Years day, January 1st, 2018, and say THANK YOU and Happy New Year!! I am so glad you are here, and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
I shared a fun round up on Instagram yesterday of my Top 9 photos of 2017. These are the ones that got the most likes over the past year, and I thought you’d like to see which ones made the cut.
Of course many of them are from my holiday decorating posts, because those tend to always be the most popular. But I love that some of my favorite views of our home are also yours. Including that last photo of the grid in the bottom right hand corner, highlighting our feature in this years Better Homes & Gardens Christmas Ideas magazine. That was truly a highlight and a dream come true last year!
Next I’ll be sharing which blog posts got the most views in 2017 along with some other blogging friends. It will definitely be fun to see which ones all of you enjoyed the most!
The photos in todays post are all my own, and transformed into watercolor images using the Waterlogue App from the App Store. This is not a sponsored post, but I thought you would like to know how I achieved that look.

Ohh Thank you so much Kate! Honestly I’m thinking of offering them as a free printable to my e-mail subscribers. One of the new things I’m thinking of implementing for the new year 🙂 Hope you had a great New Years as well!!
