Add Life to your Space with Faux Greens

I’ll be the first to admit, I’m scared of houseplants. There I said it! They’ve always kind of seemed out of reach for me. Like a conversation that has been off the table. However, one thing I have learned in creating inviting spaces is there needs to be Life! It’s amazing how much life that little pop of green can add, it’s like you know something is missing, but you can’t quite put your finger on it, and then BAM! It hits you the moment you bring some life into a space. I’ve learned though over the years, that this doesn’t always mean it needs to be a “real” plant either. You can accomplish the same look by incorporating some really good “life-like” looking faux plants.

Last year I took some time and thoughtfully incorporated some “real-looking” faux plants around our house. I did this shortly after the holidays in the dead of winter, and it really helped. Like really helped, especially in those colder months when I couldn’t go outside and just clip whatever I wanted to from our yard.

I highlighted a few in my Spring Home Tour last year, and even thought sometimes there is more of an upfront cost, in the long run it pays off more than buying fresh flowers all the time. Spring Home Tour 2017 | Rooms FOR Rent Blog

There are so many places now I feel like you can find some really good looking “life-like” faux plants. I rounded up some of my favorites to share with you, just in case you need a good starting point, and who knows maybe there will be one that just might be the perfect fit for your home as well!

I have a few real plants in my home, i take out in the and bring in first frost. They are two little ferns and two aloe.

My Pottery Barn faux fiddle leaf fig tree is the best purchase I’ve made in years! It looks incredibly real and was easy to “fluff” to best fit my space. It takes up a nice chunk of real estate in my large great room. Admittedly, I waited for a sale and free shipping to get the best deal, but it’s a terrific buy at any price.
