Hi Friends! I hope your week is off to a great start! This week I’ve joined up with a talented group of bloggers to share part of our home decorated for spring as part of the Seasonal Simplicity Series, hosted by Krista from the Happy Housie blog. There is all kinds of stunning inspiration for you to enjoy!
If you are stopping by from Sunny Side Up blog, WELCOME! I’m so glad you are here! I love Erin’s beautiful home, it matches her beautiful smile 🙂
I know I’ve already shared our living room and entryway with you. And even though I’ve done some decorating in the dining room, I simplified our dining room decor for spring, and can’t wait to share it with you. Here is a look at spring around our dining room.
This is the view you get looking into our dining room from the living room. It’s one of my favorites. This one, and our gallery wall of course (seen below).
Both views seen from our sofa. Those half walls with columns were probably the biggest selling factor for me. They add so much character to our space, and give the feeling of open concept, but help separate our living room and dining room into two spaces.
I love that you can see right into our kitchen from here too, which makes our house feel like it has a natural flow.
I love creating tablescapes, but they aren’t practical for every day life. Especially when your dining room table is the collect all, and has various piles of who knows what on it throughout the week.
Like our dining room, you can create the look by clicking any of the affiliate images below.
I love corralling items in a tray because they are easy to move, and the same is true with dough bowls. I used my favorite dough bowl (well my only dough bowl) to add a little decor to our dining room table, but it’s easy to move out of the way when necessary.
I recently picked up this cute gray/blue planter at Marshalls, along with these beautiful faux white bloom stems. It was one of those moments where I knew I technically didn’t need them, but I like to dub this as #marshallsmademedoit , because I knew that if I didn’t grab them, they would haunt me in my dreams, lol!
I recently shared on Instagram that my friend gifted me this beautiful REAL fiddle leaf fig! Insert giant GULP, because I have no idea if it will last, but I’ve had it for about 6 weeks. I just repotted her last week, and yes I’ve started referring to it as a “her”. No name yet, because the jury is still out if this black thumb can keep her alive, but I will be sure to keep you posted!
I shared last week that I recently got rid of the chalkboard door in our dining room. You can see the before HERE, but I gave this door in our dining room a fresh coat of paint – Annie Sloan Graphite to be exact, and love how clean it feels in our dining room now.
Next up on the home tour series today is Jamie from So Much Better With Age. I love Jamie’s french farmhouse style, it’s so tasteful and has me craving the french countryside every time I see her beautiful home!

So beautiful! I had to laugh at your REAL fig tree! I am seriously impressed! Keeping up a “real” tree totally intimidates me! Your home is so gorgeous and inspires me every time I come by. Have a wonderful week!
