Fig & Proscuitto Flatbread Pizza

05/24/2019 By Bre

24 May

Happy Friday Friends!! As we head into the long holiday weekend, I wanted to share one of my most favorite go-to summer recipes with you! Fig & Proscuitto flatbread pizza. We make this all summer long, and it’s one of my favorites to make when we have guests over. Even people who have never had it before, or wouldn’t typically pick this as their choice of pizza in a line up of different slices, all confirm that this is now their new favorite! So whether you are hosting a get together this weekend, attending one, or sitting at home, I have a feeling this will be your new favorite too!

We love making flatbread pizza in the summer. It’s light, and fresh ingredients are a great way to have it as an appetizer or a main dish. There are so many different variations of pizza you can make, but this fig & proscuitto is a crowd pleaser every time.

Ingredients :

Premade Flatbread crust. Our favorite is Naan typically found in the deli section at the grocery store.

4 oz. Proscuitto

4-6 fresh figs (per pizza)

3 Tbls Pizza sauce

1 /3 cup Mozzarella cheese

2 oz. Goat cheese

4 oz. Arugula

Balsamic Glaze

Directions :

  1. Preheat oven to 425. Once preheated, cook pizza crust alone for 7-10 minutes. This helps the middle of your pizza cook all the way
  2. Dice proscuitto and lightly saute’ until crispy.
  3. Remove pizza crust from oven. Top with desired amount of pizza sauce, then add mozzarella cheese. Add cooked proscuitto, fig slices and sprinkle with goat cheese. Cook for 10-12 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven top with arugala, then drizzle with balsamic glaze and serve!

It really is that simple, and oh-so delicious! Even people who don’t like goat cheese, have exclaimed how it’s just the right balance, and compliments the other flavors on this anything but ordinary pizza.
