Hello Friends!! I am so excited that porch weather is here! One of our most favorite things to do once the warmer weather hits is start and end our day on our farmers porch! So today I’m sharing how I spruced up our porch for summer, along with some blogging friends who are also sharing some of their outdoor spaces – ready for summer!
Our farmers porch runs along the side of our house, leading into the kitchen, which we use for the main entrance of our house. I mentioned in my summer tablescape post last week, that we have dwarf boomerang lilac trees next to our kitchen windows, so I took a few steps back just to show you where those are located.
The best part is when you are sitting on the porch you can smell them, and when the wind blows they fill the house with their sweet fragrance too!
I got this bench from Wayfair a few years ago, and it’s still a favorite of mine. At the end of last season I ended up rubbing on a coat of “better with age” stain by Amy Howard, to give it more of a weathered look, and I love how it turned out!
This sweet little side table, tucked in between our bench and a planter, is the perfect spot to put down your coffee cup, and also provides a place to put a citronella candle when we sit out in the evening and the mosquitos begin to come out.
I also tend to stick to all-white flowers when it comes to what I put in our porch containers. I just like the simplicity it adds, and plays off of the black and white color scheme our porch has.
I got new planters for our porch this year, all from HomeGoods, except for the hanging plants, and love how simple these new concrete planters feel.
This is the first year I picked up some metal hanging basket containers, and I have to say I love the warmth they add to our porch.
I mentioned in my how to spruce up your porch post, that I had been eyeing this little cast iron “welcome” sign for awhile now. It was the perfect size for just the space that I wanted to put it, and I’m not going to lie, it has caught my eye more than once since we’ve hung it, and it makes me smile every time!
And if you take a peak below, you’ll see my husband and I aren’t the only ones who enjoy this porch ๐ It’s becoming a family favorite spot, and my daughter couldn’t wait to jump in front of the camera and show you.
