Since fall has officially started, and we are now in October, which I like to refer to as “pumpkin month”, I thought I would share a quick, fun & easy DIY with you! If you are like me, perusing through the grocery store and those seasonal pumpkins and gourds keep catching your eye, but you aren’t quite sure what to do with them, than this post is for you!
Come check out my easy DIY pumpkin centerpiece ~
To get started you only need a handful of items, and your favorite tray to corral them in. In this case I used a roasting pan, because I loved the dark copper finish on it, perfect for fall.
First, I grabbed my roasting pan, but you could use any type of basket or tray for this easy centerpiece.
I began by placing my orange pumpkin in the center of the pan. Even though I won’t be creating an entirely symmetrical centerpiece, keeping the largest pumpkin in the center gives the eye a landing spot, tricking the eye to believe it feels symmetrical at first glance.
Next, I placed my green squash, which is my next largest object, leaning up against my orange pumpkin in the middle.
Then I tuck my candlesticks in. Since I will be filling the rest of the empty space with the mini white pumpkins, it will be easier to put my candlesticks in now.
I chose two brass candlesticks at different heights, to offer some variety when you are looking at the centerpiece straight on. I placed them diagonally across from each other on either side of the orange pumpkin. This helps things feel more symmetrical, even though it is not identical.
Then I filled in the remaining empty spots with mini white pumpkins, making my larger pumpkin and squash feel nestled in to the roasting pan.
Now I have the perfect fall centerpiece for my table. The best part is I can leave it out all season long, whether I’m hosting a gathering or not. It’s perfect on my dining room table by itself, or as the centerpiece for my tablescape.
Do I have you in the mood to host a fall gathering now?!

What is your greenery you have on the outside of your roasting pan ?

It’s a bayleaf garland! I bought it fresh from Williams-Sonoma, and this was when it was on it’s 3rd year. It smelled so heavenly when it arrived, and it dried beautifully, I got quite a few years out of it 🙂
