There’s a place in our home that I love to sit and enjoy the quiet. I think it’s important that we all take time to pause and reflect in this busy, fast-paced driven world. For me it’s vital. I don’t need much time, but just a few minutes of undistracted, quiet time to gather my thoughts does me a world of good – and my family too. It calms me, helps me feel less bothered, and allows me a moment to refresh, so I can give my best. It’s been awhile since I’ve shared the Mom-Cave on here, so today I’m sharing bits of fall in the mom cave.

To be honest, keeping this space minimal helps me refresh. It’s a quiet retreat, not busy by any means, that feels like a breath of fresh air. Just like the morning sunshine pouring into the space.
I realized, I haven’t shared this new wall banner yet on the blog. I shared in on Instagram a while ago, but have since moved it up here, and I love the reminder it gives me of our family and our home as I sit here and reflect.
OUR CREW
t&c
We became one then grew
Our family, our home
Me & You
With walls that see it all
Our dances & downfalls
Tears & laughter
Echoing through the halls
Moments that remind us
It’s love that truly binds us
To a story
Much bigger than we know
May we
Treasure each hug & kiss
Be quicker to forgive
And always believe
What is good & true
As each day we remember
This crew begins & ends
Me & you

The banner came from Truth & Co., an interior design firm I absolutely LOVE, and you can read more of the story about this banner HERE.

This room is actually an extension of our master bedroom, which you can see more HERE.
Originally it was attic space above the kitchen, but the previous owners renovated it, and added a little on-suite with a master bath. We gutted the master bath and gave it a complete makeover – which you can see HERE. But you have to walk through this little room to get from our bed, to the master bathroom.
Of course it didn’t look like this when we moved in, lol! This space has undergone quite a few different looks as our family has grown over the past few years to get to the space we have now. You can see HERE when I first shared the mom-cave, and how I was purposeful in creating a space that was just our own.

I added these peel ‘n stick wood planks from Stikwood, during the last makeover I did to this space, and love the cozy character it adds throughout this tiny room. It was just what the walls were begging for, and fills in the void of needing to hang too many things up on the walls. I chose their Hamptons finish, to keep things light & airy.
Recently, I picked up this chippy window frame mirror from Purple Rose Home, when I was down there for my book signing event! The window frames are true antiques that come over from Europe, and then are made into mirrors. Purple Rose home has quite a few different styles and sizes, and I have to tell you – I’m obsessed with them all!!

I love the patina, and the true vintage character it adds to the space. It sets the perfect backdrop just slighting leaning up against the wall to those pretty muted pumpkins.

There are more leaves on the ground now then there are on the trees. As I feel the season come to an end, I find myself filled with gratitude as I pause to reflect on all the blessing it’s brought.
