Christmas Tree | 2019

11/20/2019 By Bre

Friends I am so excited to share this years Christmas Tree with all of you! After sharing how we lost 2 of our Christmas trees this past year to water damage in our basement, I shared a round up of some of the Christmas trees I spotted when I was looking to replace ours from last year. And I have to say, I am very impressed with this super affordable Christmas tree from non other than Amazon!

Come and take a look~

Yesterday I shared our cozy farmhouse living room, decorated for Christmas, but today I’m sharing all about this years Christmas tree that I bought from Amazon.

I’m not going to lie, or even pretend that I didn’t shed some tears when I found out last years Christmas tree was the victim to water damage in our basement. I was completely bummed out, because to me – that was the perfect Christmas tree. It was the perfect size for our living room, I loved the realistic shape, and of course the life-like resemblance to that of a real Christmas tree, it was a hard day.

Thankfully though, when this guy showed up, I was pleasantly surprised, even though I had my doubts on ordering a Christmas tree off of Amazon. My biggest concern was the quality of the tree. My previous fake tree had set the standards pretty high, but I was so impressed when I opened the box, and saw that this tree had the same life-like looking branches and needles. The even added a brown texture to the entire trunk of the tree to make it look more real in person.

I’ll be back soon to share with you how I make the platform I put my Christmas tree on, and wrap it with that chunky knit throw blanket, which also helps me save a little money, because I was able to buy a shorter Christmas tree, so it’s a win win!

I went with the Pre-Lit 6.5′ Aspen Fir Christmas Tree from Amazon. They also carry other heights, but for the price, and my platform trick I’ll share with you tomorrow, I knew I could get away with a 6.5′ tree.

Not pictured is my daughter helping me decorate the tree. Guys this was a BIG moment for me – to release the control of wanting to do things my way, and allowing her to decide where the ornaments go on the tree – GULP! I’m happy to say she did a wonderful job, even as my heart skipped a beat and she caught one of the glass ornaments about to shatter on the floor, but the look on her face! The moment I put the tree up – which took less then 10 minutes – thanks to a pre-lit tree, she beamed, and then Ooo’d and Ahh’d over the Christmas tree being up, and her first words were “I can’t wait to help you decorate it!” as she bounced up and down. Oh, this mama’s heart did all it could to contain both the joy and fear of letting go of the reigns a little bit, and allowing her to help 🙂

I shared in yesterdays post, how I like to swap out artwork seasonally as well, and this new antler print – part of the new winter collection from Vol.25, is a keeper!

Thankfully, I didn’t loose any of my ornaments! So I brought out all my favorite white ornaments, and mixed them in with some mercury glass ornaments, and a few paper ones too!

Ohh Thank you! It’s from H&M last year, and I looked to see, but they haven’t brought it back this year.
