Hello Friends! Last week I shared a festive holiday tablescape, and if you caught a glimpse of my buffet in the background, then you got a sneak peek of my festive holiday mantle. Today I’m sharing more about how I created that festive holiday vignette along with 35 other bloggers sharing their holiday mantles & vignettes part of the Seasonal Simplicity Christmas Series! There is so much holiday decor inspiration in todays series, come and check it out ~
Earlier this month I shared a Simple Christmas Vignette, and in that post I shared how I love to coordinate the vignettes on my buffet in our dining room with whatever tablescape I’ve created. Just like the vignette I created for the Green + White Christmas Tree Tablescape, I created this vignette to coordinate with my Festive Holiday Tablescape.
Setting the backdrop for this holiday vignette is my custom sign from Between You & Me, with a quote from my book – The Gift of Gathering. I shared more about this sign HERE, and for a limited time you can find it in their shop HERE.
I draped this faux garland over one corner of my sign – for an asymmetrical look, and then created a small cluster of pieces below on the left and the right.
Sticking with odd numbers, I grouped together some of my favorite mercury glass christmas trees. A DIY white-washed nutcracker I made – tutorial found here.
I always like things to feel a little bit more bigger and grand for Christmas vs. my typical more simple approach when it comes to creating vignettes or tablescapes for the holidays, to me it just feels more festive and the occasion feel more elaborate.
For the grouping on the right, I made a simple winter green floral arrangement that matched the arrangement I made for my tablescape. Then I brought in another mercury glass tree and white-washed nutcracker, along with some larger mercury glass orbs.
Using some of the same pieces on either side of my holiday vignette also creates a more cohesive look, even though things aren’t exactly the same – for a more casual look and feel.
