I know I’ve said before that tablescapes are my favorite thing to create here on the blog, but coming in at a close second would have to be vignettes. Yesterday I shared a Green + White holiday tablescape, and I always love to create a vignette on the buffet in our dining room that coordinates. So today I’m sharing the simple Christmas vignette I created to go along with yesterdays tablescape.
Come & See ~

I can remember spending hours in my bedroom as a girl, re-arranging the knick-knacks on top of my dresser to create the perfect display. And now I’m watching my daughter do the same thing in her bedroom – which is just about the most adorable thing ever!

I broke my vignette up into two sides. The left and right of the mirror. Grouping together some tabletop Christmas trees I’ve collected over the years, some holiday greens, and for an added woodsy touch a deer tea light holder on either side.

I kept each grouping to 5 pieces, so they would feel symmetrical on either side of the mirror, including the lamp as one of my pieces on the right hand side.

If you get stuck when creating vignettes, just remember you can never go wrong with having a center focus point – in this case my round mirror, and then grouping similar items on either side – keeping your largest pieces on the outside while tapering down to smaller/shorter items towards the center. And always keep your groupings to an odd number count – it’s more pleasing to the eye.
