Summer Dining Room | 2020

Hello Friends! I realize it has been a hot minute since I have posted on here. I know this year in general has looked very different for most of us, and I found myself needing to take some time over the course of the summer to really step back and navigate through everything that has been going on. If you caught my last post, I shared this mama’s heart and my thoughts on our kids going back to school. I know many kids across the country have already started back to school, ours start next week, and whatever your decision is with school this year, I hope you find encouragement from that post. You can read it HERE, in case you missed it. And while today might be September 1st, I realized I never got around to sharing the photos I took of our dining room earlier this summer, because well – life happens, and this past summer I really wanted to unplug with my kids. So before I start sharing all sorts of fall inspiration for this year, I wanted to share how are dining room has looked over theses past couple of months. I hope you enjoy seeing our dining room decorated for summer.

You may remember I shared our Summer Mantle Vignette of the buffet top in our dining room HERE. I hung these DIY Abstract paintings I made a few years ago as the back drop for the vignette, and I loved the feeling they added to our dining room, that I kept them up all summer long. They reminded me of waves at the beach, and I love how they added a monochromatic feel to the blue and white walls behind them.

I let the inspiration from creating that summer vignette to carry over throughout the rest of our dining room.

I created a simple vignette on our dining room table, repeating the same materials I used on our buffet for my summer mantle. This created a cohesive feel throughout our dining room, and kept things feel light and airy all summer long.

I also used some left over pieces of rope, I’ve had from Michaels for years and tied them around the tablecloth at each end of the table for a slightly nautical touch for summer.

The view below is from standing in front of our buffet looking into the dining room. And you get a little *sneak peek* of the new built in cabinets we made over the summer. We just installed the glass doors a few weeks ago, and I can’t wait to share this finished project with you!

Very beautiful! Where did you purchase your table from? I’m looking for a dining room table and love the style and look of yours. 😉

Ohh thank you so much Laura 🙂 We made our table and will be sharing a tutorial very soon. Unfortunately the Etsy shop I got the table legs from has since closed, so I’ve been looking for some similar options to be able to share.
