Hello Friends!
How is fall going in your neck of the woods. Currently I’m sitting out on our porch looking around, admiring all the beautiful fall foliage. Fall seemed to arrive a little late for us this year, which I’m told was from our very wet summer, and even though the leaves started changing a little bit later than normal, they are in peak show off mode now! Our temps are still mildly warm, as if summer is teasing us, not wanting to leave just yet, but I know it will be too cold to sit outside soon enough. So to celebrate fall in all its’ glory, I wanted to share a fall tablescape I created around my beautiful cinderella pumpkin centerpiece I recently made.
Let’s Gather ~
I don’t know about you but I love to host gatherings in the fall. Probably more so than any other season. I don’t know if it’s the chill in the air calling us indoors to warm ourselves by a fire, and gather around the table with friends. I don’t think any special occasion is needed. Taking the time to host a dinner and open up your home instills in whoever gathers around your table that they are thought of and cared for.
I especially love the soft glow from lighting candles, that makes the atmosphere in the room feel extra cozy. It’s little details like these that show are friends and family just how special they are. I’ve mentioned it before, how the simple act of setting the table makes our guests feel celebrated. Heck I’ve even been known to light some candles on a weeknight dinner when I want to make sure my husband and kids feel loved.
You might think to yourself that the gift of hospitality is not your strong suit. But try it, one tiny detail at a time. Opening up your home for a meal, or maybe just coffee and dessert, start somewhere. I think it’s the kind of gathering that our souls are longing for. A deeper way of feeling connected, more than any screen could provide, and I have yet to invite a friend over that didn’t love to know they had a seat ready for them at the table 🙂
{ a blessing }
I pray that as we gather around our tables this fall, our hearts would be filled with gratitude. That we are reminded of all the treasures we are given as we partake in fellowship that feeds our souls. That our tables would overflow with laughter and joy, and that our hearts and our homes will be warmed with thankfulness for all we have been blessed with.
