Hi Friend!
Today I’m sharing how I decorated our fireplace mantel for fall! Truth be told, from the moment we finished our fireplace makeover, I have been dying to pull out my garlands from their storage bins, and decorate it for Christmas. But I’m practicing some self control, and am embracing the fall season by choosing to decorate my mantel for fall and not skip straight ahead to Christmas. I took a note from the colors I used in my Thanksgiving table this year to create this natural look using foraged branches with berries, a few faux stems, and of course mini white pumpkins! I love how this look came together, and am so glad I decided not to skip over decorating our mantel for fall this year.
Come and see ~
If you are new here, we gave our fireplace a complete makeover this year. Our fireplace used to be covered in brick from floor to ceiling, and after A LOT of careful consideration and thoughtful planning we began the process to transform it to the fireplace you see today. You can read all about our Fireplace Makeover – HERE. We even installed a new mantel at a lower height specifically so I could have more room to decorate above the mantel.
I started by placing this antique mirror in the center of my mantle. Once my mirror was in place, I added some taper candles to either side for height.
Next I placed some faux green magnolia branches I had picked up a few years ago, to tie in with the green taper candles I used. Once the faux stems were in place I added in real mini white pumpkins in different sizes and shapes. I tucked in a few of the berry branches I had clipped to finish off this look, and really made my decor come to life!
I did the same styling on the opposite side of the mirror. I added in green taper candles for height, mimicking the same placement I did on the first side. Next, the faux magnolia branches, and then filled in around the candles with mini white pumpkins. A few more clipped berry branches, not placed exactly in the same spots as the ones on the right, but just enough to fill in the gaps, and add some interest to the left side.
I finished off my fall mantel by making this simple grapevine wreath and hung it on the mirror. I used two grape vines and formed them into a circle in the size I was wanting. I secured it together with some floral wire, and finished the look with a few more berries I had clipped and tying a simple bow with some ribbon.
Our fireplace is located in the center of our house, in between our kitchen and our dining room, making it the perfect gathering hub of the home. It’s one of the first things you see when you walk into our kitchen, and I love how warm and inviting these simple fall touches add to it.

That looks so pretty!!! Love that you used magnolia leaves in with the pumpkins. Definitely has inspired me for my own mantle. And thanks for not hopping on the Christmas decorating for Christmas yet!!

Looks so perfectly rustic, Bre!!! You guys did such an amazing job making over the fireplace but keeping that authentic New England farmhouse vibe. Sidenote: Mini white pumpkins were the only thing that flourished in my garden this year…what a washout of a Summer!!
