Hi Friend!
Our back porch has been undergoing major changes over the last few months. Earlier this summer, we started the demo, removing worn-out screens and the dated green tile. We aren’t quite finished with it yet, but the transformation has been so fun, seeing new life brought back into this space that we love to use. Our back porch is split into two sections, one part being screened in (which we plan to keep) and a second portion that used to have a pergola over it. Both of which overlooks our backyard. We’ve made some major changes to it, and even though it’s not quite finished, I thought it would be fun to decorate for fall and show you the difference between how it looked last year and now.
Come and see ~
A quick look back at how our back porch looked last year.
And here is how our back porch looks today ~
The railings and pergola were removed, opening up our entire view! New decking was installed where the green tile (which was such a slipping hazard) used to be, giving us a fresh new space to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee.
I filled planters with a variety of different colored fall plants. Mums, purple coral bells, and, of course, my personal favorite – kale! I created groupings around our bistro table with my fall planters and a few heirloom pumpkins.
The sun rises on this side of the house, and I love the way it peeks through the trees, slowly lighting up our back porch each morning.
I picked up these larger mums from Home Depot earlier this fall and grouped them together with smaller potted plants and, of course, more pumpkins that make a big statement across our back porch.
