Hi friends!! I’m so excited to be joining in again this year with Jennifer Rizzo’s Holiday Housewalk sponsored by Wayfair! Jenn kicked off the tour yesterday with Day 1, and 6 beautiful homes decorated for the holidays. To start at the beginning of the tour, you can visit Jen’s blog HERE, as she kicks things off, and today we continue with Day 2.
If you are stopping by from At the Picket Fence, then welcome!! I’m so glad you are here. This year I decided to change up my Christmas decor a little. In years past my decor was always on the rustic side, but becoming more neutral along the way. I shared my christmas decor inspiration for this year HERE, where I shared how I loved last years decor, but at the end of it all it felt a little lacking to me. So I decided to add a little color back into the mix, and knowing my love for blue, that seemed to be the obvious choice. However I wanted things to feel a little more elegant and a little more traditional this year.
I shared our Christmas tree last week, HERE, but really shared how I focused on adding some warmth with champagne and gold toned ornaments, and of course the blue ribbon!
New to the tree this year, are these beautiful white frosted bulbs from Wayfair. They looked like snow covered mercury glass ornaments to me, and of course I love all things white!
I also added a mix of glass pinecones in different finishes, similar to THESE, along with a mix of different gold hued ornaments (borrowed from my mom).
Last year I got one new throw pillow – ONE, LOL! I always say the biggest way to swap out decor for the seasons is by bringing in new throw pillows. So when I saw this slate blue velvet pillows at HomeGoods earlier this fall, I got a little carried away.
I figured since last year had only one, I could balance it out by getting almost all new ones this year, lol! All are new, except the white plaid one is from H&M a few years ago.
Also new this year is the white fur rug, yes rug, draped on our coffee table. It adds the perfect wintry touch to our living room. I filled a gold tray with a few coffee table books, and some of the christmas trees from my christmas tree tablescape for a little added shine. I love the mix of textures going on in this sweet little vignette.
So I have a new favorite Christmas song, and I want to share it with all of you today! I’ll include the link below in case you want to listen to it, but it is the simplest of songs melody wise, with lyrics full of meaning.
So as you continue with our tour I want to share the lyrics for you to read, because this truly sums up how I feel about our home during the holidays.
“I don’t care if the house is packed , Or the strings of light are broken
Oo
Oo
I share with you soon how I embellished them a little, and put my own personal touch on them, but I loved the idea of each stocking having everyones initials on them. THESE wood letter ornaments from Anthropologie add the perfect finishing touch. I purchased one for each of us.
**P.S. – That cozy chunky knit throw you see on the chair in the corner is 20% OFF right now with code AHTHANKSU. I will be back tomorrow to share more about that delicious slice of heaven, but in the meantime you can find it HERE.**
Thank you so much for joining me today as we welcome Christmas into our home. Up next on the tour is Dear Lillie!! I swoon every time over her beautiful details, and impeccable taste in decor, especially at Christmas time! You will not want to miss it, I can promise you that! Have a lovely day friends!
P.P.S. Here’s the song –

Beautifully decorated tree, the flocking gives the effect of a freshly fallen snow. The garland on the stair way is simply Devine. Xo Sarah
