Hi Friends! I’ve been keeping a secret! I had every intention of sharing this with you weeks ago, but with family things going on, recovery from the holidays, and then our weather not cooperating when I did have a moment to take pictures, it just didn’t happen. Enough is enough, the sun was out yesterday, and I pulled my camera out real quick so I could show you how I added some warmth in our kitchen.
I’m switching things up today from all of our bathroom makeover talk, to share with you our new vintage rug in the kitchen.
I had been eyeing these vintage rugs for over a year now, so one day when I was scrolling Instagram I came across it in @NewEnglandLoom feed, and knew it would be the perfect touch to add some warmth I was craving in our kitchen.
Typically vintage rugs are known for the bright red hues, but this muted beauty was the perfect compromise for me, without it feeling too drastic. It has coppery-orange tones, beige, and a touch of gray.
It fits perfectly in-between my island and our sink, which was always a problem I had trying to find a runner that was not just long enough bit wide enough too!
I love how it compliments my antique wooden cutting boards (found in my curated collection), and how it plays with our painted island.
What farmhouse kitchen wouldn’t be complete without a basket of fresh eggs from our hens. The kids still get excited when they go out to collect the eggs, and honestly so do I! I wonder if that will ever get old?!
Maybe it’s winter, maybe it’s craving change, but I’ve been itching to switch things up around our house, and craving some warmth and coziness in our home, and this antique rug was the perfect addition to our kitchen.
You can shop New England Loom – HERE. I find myself perusing their inventory regularly, because the one thing with antiques is they are one of a kind. Lindsey, the shop owner, does a great job stocking a huge variety of antique rugs, and I may be a little biased, but I love that she’s a New England girl too!
Stay in touch!

Girl, I’ve been wondering where you were and had prayed you and your family were okay. I hated to hear what happened to your email and that you had to go so long and to so much trouble to fix everything. So very glad you’re back. I love the rug! It added warmth and pops of perfect colors to your kitchen. Look forward to see what’s next!

Ohhh thank you SO much Pam! That truly means a lot!! I hated feeling like I left everyone questioning where I was, it was so awful. But so glad things are now on the mend!

Thank you so much Marlene!! It was awful feeling like I couldn’t communicate with everyone and let them know what was going on! So glad things are finally starting to clear up!
