Happy Monday friends! Last week was a blur! I had a few more posts planned for last week, and you know what - life happened! I even had a special mother's day post planned, but sometimes in life we need to drop what we are doing and show up for other people, and that was just what happened last week. And it got me thinking, how often do we allow our homes to refresh others? Because if we are only focusing on the right throw pillows for our living room or the perfect chairs in our dining room than we are missing the point. I mean sure those things matter, but at the end of the day they are just that - things, and they are only part of what goes into the environment we are creating inside our ... My Dining Room Style
Hello Friends!! First off I just have to say THANK YOU so much for all of your kind words and support in regards to my last post!! To be able to share such exciting news with all of you, and be vulnerable with my dreams, and have them received so warmly means more than I can ever say! Last week I shared about how it's ok if you don't have your dream house, and why I think that makes you a better decorator, and where to even start with the decor in your own home. So today I'm going to share with you how my dining room style evolved into the space you see today! ... Read More about My Dining Room Style
A Dream Come True!
Yesterday I shared about the importance of writing your dreams down! Regardless of how long it takes for some of those dreams to come true, I think it's so powerful when we write them out, when we speak them into existence, and share them vulnerably with a trusted friend. I hinted before that I have something in the wings I've been working towards, a dream come true, and I'm so excited that today, on my birthday I get to share with you what it finally is! ... Knowing Where to Start with your Home
It's so easy to point out the things that we don't love in our home sometimes isn't it? The outdated tile, the bathroom toilet that needs to be replaced. Or perhaps it's the lack of storage in some very needed areas throughout our homes, or that beige carpet you are desperate to change over to hardwood someday. I'll admit I have totally been guilty of walking around this house, that I prayed for mind you, and complained about all the things that it didn't have. But that only left me frustrated and discontent. If you caught my post earlier this week about it being ok that you don't have your Pinterest perfect dream home, then you know I have spent sometime analyzing the quirks in our home, ... 35 things by 35
It's my birthday week. Well technically it's my sons birthday week also. He was born 2 1/2 weeks late, at 8am, the day before my birthday, making him the best birthday present ever! But he's not the one turning 35, I am, on Friday, and he is turning 10. I'm still not sure I have wrapped my head around the fact that I will have a 10 yr. old, but that can be another topic for another day. 7 years ago I wrote a post, "35 by 35", and in it I listed 35 things I would like to do, see or accomplish by the time I'm 35. It's funny I've only gone back and looked at the post once since I had written it, and this morning I woke up with it being the only thing on my mind. So I figured it might be fun, ... It’s ok if you don’t have your Dream House
Holy smokes long title, but there really is just no shorter way of saying it! It is ok if you don't have your dream house and yes I believe that it makes you a better decorator! I think we all start off with a dream house in mind, at some point in our lives. Heck I still get visions what my dream house would look like. But I bet for most of us we aren’t living in those dream houses we imagined we’d have. And if you are, I am SO happy for you, and I bet there is still a little something you can get out of this post too! So why is it that not living in our dream homes makes us a better decorator? ...
