If you follow me on Instagram, than you may have seen some sneak peeks of a little master bedroom makeover I've been working on! Honestly I was just ready for a change, and a dark moody color. And since our master bedroom isn't very big, it makes painting the room pretty easy. At first I was thinking of just painting my nightstand dresser a lighter color since the walls are a new darker color. I was just about ready to do so, and figured I should at least see if I can sand off some of that paint and uncover raw wood. And you know what?! I did just that. ... Summer Mantle {Seasonal Simplicity Series}
Hello Friends!! I'm so excited to be joining in on the Seasonal Simplicity tour again, this time around for the summer series! I loved joining in on the spring series, and it's always so much fun to see what everyone comes up with. I love having loads of inspiration all teamed up together in one place like this. Today we are all sharing our summer mantle's with you. You remember my Spring Mantle with faux plants and terra cotta pots. Since I don't technically have a mantle I decorate in our house, I use my buffet in our dining room to create seasonal vignettes. It's a great spot because you have to walk through our dining room to get to any other room in our house, so it gets lots of visual ... Read More about Summer Mantle {Seasonal Simplicity Series}
Summer Home Decor from H&M
Hello friends! We are in the midst of some of my favorite kind of weather right now. Mid- 70's, no humidity, and a nice warm breeze. Seriously I feel like the days couldn't be any better. They totally have me dreaming of all things summer right now. And even though the kids still have a few weeks left of school, until the real summer for us begins, there are a few things I like to do around the house to freshen things up for summer. The first is to clean, lol. But these warm breezes have me dreaming of catnaps in summer afternoons, soft linen textiles blowing in the breeze, and some beachy styled patterns that say "hello summer!" Do I have you dreaming of it now too? I've rounded up some of ... Read More about Summer Home Decor from H&M
Dark Accent Walls
Hello Friends! I have been working on a secret project lately, that I can't wait to share with you soon. Until then, I have been loving the look of dark accent walls, and I thought I would share some of my favorites with you. I think I love dark accent walls just as much as I love white walls, and I also believe that every home should have at least one dark wall, if not a whole room :) ... 5 Things Motherhood has Taught Me
On this Mothers Day, I wanted to share with you a little bit about my journey in motherhood so far. I cap it at "so far" because well, I'm right in the middle of it. I'm past the throws of the infant stage and toddler hood, and no sleep, and right in the sweet spot of "I can wipe my own bum" and "tie my own shoes" and there is no sign of pre-teen drama. And even if we aren't at the same stage in life, or motherhood for that matter, I really just wanted to share what has impacted me, what I've learned so far, lol. Because if you haven't been in toddlerhood for a while, it is no joke my friend! While I still have a long ways to go, here are 5 things I've learned so far. ... New Barn Door in the Kitchen
I am SO excited to share our new barn door we installed in our kitchen with you today! It's actually been something I've wanted to do for years, but you know how those things go that aren't necessarily on the top burner, yeah they get pushed aside, and pushed aside. Well not anymore thanks to my friends at Artisan Hardware. I've teamed up with them to show you their beautiful barn doors. Honestly what caught my eye with them was their gorgeous hardware. It's perfect farmhouse look, crafted right here in US, and honestly it was the attention to detail. If you know me at all by now, you know I'm all about the details. And I think you will see what I mean. ... Read More about New Barn Door in the Kitchen
We Rented a BobCat
Hello Friends! Happy Friday!! Yes you read that title correctly - we rented a BobCat! My son liked to joke the whole time saying "Where I don't see a bobcat?!". He thought he was pretty funny! I shared in my landscaping post, we have totally switched gears after renovating our master bathroom and turned our attention towards our outdoor spaces. So to tackle one of our bigger projects we rented a bobcat, cleared some land, and laid down some crushed stone. The same kind of stone we used in our outdoor patio area. So today I'm going to show you the area we cleared, and how we install our crushed stone. ... Read More about We Rented a BobCat
Pretty in Pink Centerpiece Tutorial
Hello Friends! Mothers day is fast approaching, and if you caught this years mothers day tablescape, then you know I went all "Pretty in Pink", with some beautiful pink ranunculus. I am no florist by any means, but I've thrown together an arrangement from time to time. I usually love to enlist the help of my talented friend Christi from Twig & Tulip. She is what I like to call a ninja master when it comes to arranging beautiful flowers. She created the lovely arrangement on last years Mother's Day tablescape, and so many more for other tablescapes I've done in the past. But every now and then (usually when I procrastinate) I try my hand at it. I think arranging flowers is definitely one ... Read More about Pretty in Pink Centerpiece Tutorial
Late Spring in our Living Room
Hello Friends, and happy Monday!! I'm so excited to be joining in with some friends today for a little look around our home. Spring finally hit us last week. Like finally. It's my favorite couple of weeks, and I'm not quite sure if I love it more than fall ( I think I do), because with everything starting to bloom, it feels so magical. It's the best reward after a long winter, and the anticipation and excitement each tiny bud brings is a reminder of lazy summer days ahead. We also have a few birthdays in the house, so spring brings on the excitement in celebrating my sons and my birthday that are only a day apart. It was such a treat last week, not only to celebrate our birthdays, but ... Read More about Late Spring in our Living Room
What’s For Dinner?
Do you dread that question? Nothing hits me more like a ton of bricks than when my kids ask me "what's for dinner", and I don't have an answer. I've mentioned before that this season in our life definitely has it's moments of being "busy", and I'm told it only increases as we get into those teen years. When my kids were little I really started getting serious about cutting our processed foods, and being conscious of ingredients and what we were eating. But lately with spring sports in full swing, weeknight programs, and work getting busy, I'm finding myself reaching for the box of Annie's mac & cheese more and more. I once heard the saying that when a creative person gets interrupted ... Read More about What’s For Dinner?

Pretty in Pink Mother’s Day Tablescape
Hello Friends! It's hard to believe but Mother's Day is just around the corner. I can't think of a better way to celebrate than gathered around the table. Laughing, sharing memories, and of course taking time to be with one another. I think there is nothing more than moms would rather do, then to sit around the table with the ones you love, and cherish the time spent together. Unless you are a mom of toddlers, and all you want is to be able to go to the bathroom by yourself and a nap! Believe me, I get it, I've been there too, but as my kids get a little older, they love to love on their mama, well anyone for that matter. Through our example they have know the treasure it is to celebrate ... Read More about Pretty in Pink Mother’s Day Tablescape
