Many of you have asked how I achieved the look for the new side table in the Mom Cave, and today I'm going to show you just how I got it! I wanted a decent sized table for the space, because honestly I need room for more than just a coffee cup, ha ha! I don't like to feel crowded, and also having a spot I could sit at with my laptop if need be was on the wish list as well. I did lots of searching for the perfect sized table, and at the right price. I love the "weathered wood" look, but sometimes that can get pricey. So I focused my attention on finding on unfinished side table that I could stain myself. I've mixed stains before, layered stains, tried the "diy" stain, the only problem I have ... Spring Touches in the Mom Cave
It feels a little silly to use the word "spring" right now since we have been hit with about 3 ft of snow in the past 4 days, but just about this time every year I start getting the itch for spring. When the sun starts to stay out just a bit longer, and the temps start to rise above 30 degrees. Here in New England we are known for our long winters, so I like to beat the winter blues by adding fresh flowers, and that's just what I did to add some spring touches in the mom cave. ... Update on Life
Hello Friends!! I'm alive!! I still feel like I'm coming down from being on cloud 9 after our Better Homes & Gardens christmas photoshoot. This was the 3rd time we've had a magazine come to our house to do a photoshoot, the first time for BH&G, and even though I felt more like having a 3rd child, instead of my first, you know where you are a bit more relaxed, not as nervous as the first time. If the binkie falls on the floor you just pick it up, lick it off, and give it back to your baby, lol! Well I started off that way, and then leading to up to the week before they were supposed to come, it was like a whirlwind hit of realizing a major publication will be in my house, IN MY HOUSE, ... 20 Neutral Arm Chairs Your Room Needs
Thank you so much for all of your kind words from my Mom Cave reveal!! It really is such a sweet space, and I love having a room I can retreat in, and feel so cozy. I get asked a lot where I find furniture, where some of my furniture is from, where there is a good selection of furniture. And while this post in no way is to promote one store, in all of my online shopping experience's I find a good portion of what I'm looking for at Joss & Main. They are the first place I go to when I'm looking for clients, and so today I thought I would do a little round up of 20 of my favorite neutral arm chairs your room needs. ... Favorite Project from 2016
I know that sometimes creating resolutions for the new year can become a bit daunting or overwhelming, maybe even a tad discouraging. Wondering if there's even a point to creating these goals, because let's face it, sometimes we don't even get to the second goal on our list. If those thoughts come knocking at my door, I like to take a moment and look back at the things I have accomplished. So today I'm joining my friends from the Farmhouse Decorating Series, as we share our favorite projects from 2016, and our top goal for 2017! ... Read More about Favorite Project from 2016
The Mom Cave
A new space for the new year! I am so excited to share how we transformed this space into a cozy retreat! Ever since I was a little girl I have loved being in my bedroom. It was my space to think, and play, create, and dream big. I always felt refreshed after having some alone time in my room when I was a kid, and still feel that way! In our master we have a tiny room attached that you walk through to get to the master bathroom. It's where you've seen my home office set up before, and I always envisioned creating a cozy retreat in that space. A mom cave if you will, and I'm so excited to share it with you today! ... New Thoughts for the New Year
Happy NEW YEAR friends!! I always feel like there is so much excitement that comes with a new year. Anticipation for what the new year holds, and the possibilities of a fresh start. I have spent the last week purging and cleaning. Going through areas in our house that have collected piles over the past year, who am I kidding the past few years. Some areas get re-visited more than others, and some areas stay neglected for a little while. I feel like I've been pretty productive though, going through clothes I haven't worn in the past year. Did you know I got rid of about 20 belts?! I mean who really wears that many? I weeded it down to the 3 I wear the most, and the rest went in the bag to ... My favorite thing to buy for the new year!
Have you recovered from Christmas yet? As I speak we are curled up inside watching big white fluffy snowflakes fall, drinking hot chocolate by our wood stove. It's quite possibly one of my most favorite ways to soak in the winter season, instead of dreading the months of cold weather that lie ahead. As 2016 winds down, I thought I would share with you my favorite thing to buy as we get ready to start another new year! We all go through New Years resolutions, I assure you, this has nothing to do with that! HA! But I do have one simple household item that I absolutely get giddy with excitement to get my hands on! I shared earlier this week on Instagram, that we are keeping our Christmas decor ... Read More about My favorite thing to buy for the new year!

Watercolor Advent Calendar {2016}
I shared awhile back on Instagram that I was going to do something completely different for my Advent calendar this year. Not because I didn't love our wood plank advent calendar from years past, but because I was ready for something a little different. So I took a leap of faith and tried something new, something I had never done before, and created a new watercolor advent calendar. ... Read More about Watercolor Advent Calendar {2016}

Christmas Entryway with Balsam Hill
I never used to care that much about our entryway before. I will admit, in our early days of decorating our home, I would only focus on the main area we would spend our time in, the living room. And while that's totally fine for us who spend everyday in our home, I realized I left my guests feeling a bit uninvited until they finally made it into our living room. Our very first apartment was a typical new englander, and we had the second floor, however to enter our house you would come in on the main floor into an entryway, and then climb a giant flight of stairs to a tiny hallway and then enter into our living room. That gave our guests about 25 steps of cold, undecorated, not-cared-about ... Read More about Christmas Entryway with Balsam Hill
