Honestly as much as I wish these last days of the year would stand still, I love to pause and reflect on what an amazing year it has been, which always winds up giving me just the right amount of motivation to dive into the new year with hope and anticipation for what it might bring! Hello friends!! I can’t even begin to express to you the gratitude and thanks that fill my heart over the response to my new book The Gift of Gathering. The process for this book took about two years, so to finally have it out in the world for all to see, and in your hands, still feels so surreal. And a little vulnerable if I’m being completely honest 🙂 I’ve mentioned before how much I wanted this book to feel like a gift, so I poured my heart into, and now that it’s out, it feels like I’m walking around with my heart on my sleeve, but in the BEST way possible! 3 years ago, I created this tablescape. And while I was photographing it for an upcoming blog post, something just sparked in me, like never before. While I was taking pictures my hubby called home to see how my day was going, and before he could finish his question I exclaimed – “Fantastic! It’s going fantastic, I love this so much. If I could only create tablescapes, and style them and then photograph them for the rest of my life, this is ALL I want to do!” I said it so confidently and proud, only to hear his response “you want to photograph tables for the rest of your life?” LOL! In short yes, but
I can not believe that my book will be hitting stores in twelve days. 12 DAYS!! Honestly every day we get closer to the launch of my book, I try to soak it all in, and relish in the moment of this dream I had for so long finally coming to fruition. So to carry on with the excitement I have a special GIFT for anyone who pre-orders my book!
Friends, let me first start off by saying that I can’t believe the time has finally come to tell you more about my first BOOK! It releases in just under a month, and honestly every time I think about the words I want to write to share how I’m feeling, I am overcome by emotions and happy tears well up in my eyes. Hello Friends! I’ve been working behind the scenes to try and organize my blog a bit better, and make some of the past content easier to find. Although I would not consider myself a furniture makeover connoisseur, I have been known to throw some paint on furniture before, or completely strip it down. I get a lot of questions about what types of stain I use, or colors of stain I used to achieve a certain look, so a post on that is coming soon, but in the meantime I created a new tab labeled “Furniture”, to house all my furniture projects.
Yesterday I shared about the importance of writing your dreams down! Regardless of how long it takes for some of those dreams to come true, I think it’s so powerful when we write them out, when we speak them into existence, and share them vulnerably with a trusted friend. I hinted before that I have something in the wings I’ve been working towards, a dream come true, and I’m so excited that today, on my birthday I get to share with you what it finally is!
