My BOOK! | The Gift of Gathering

Friends, let me first start off by saying that I can’t believe the time has finally come to tell you more about my first BOOK! It releases in just under a month, and honestly every time I think about the words I want to write to share how I’m feeling, I am overcome by emotions and happy tears well up in my eyes. I’m so excited to share with you today about my very own BOOK – The Gift of Gathering, and hopefully I can make it through this post without crying 🙂

I shared first with you HERE about the opportunity I got to write a book! ME – writing a book! The book is called “The Gift of Gathering”, and it is filled with beautiful tablescapes and gathering ideas for any kind of get-together, but more so – to encourage us to get together with friends and family.

The idea was birthed from my LOVE of creating unique tablescapes and my heart for hospitality. Honestly, I can not WAIT for you to see it!! The funny thing about the title is, we didn’t have the title down until after the book was finished. I didn’t know what it was going to be called, I just kept telling my editor

“I want this book to feel like a gift to whoever picks up”. “I want them to be uplifted, and feel encouraged, and most importantly inspired to get together with friends and family.”

I wanted anyone who picked up the book to feel like they too could create a beautiful tablescape, and host a gathering. And I also equally wanted it to be a book that you would by giddy to give a friend as a gift when you want something that feels special and unique.

I wanted the book to feel attainable regardless of budget, or age, or where you lived. I wanted to break down the lies we can sometimes feel or believe when we want to invite others over but just don’t feel equipped, or that we have a big enough space.

I filled my book with practical ideas, TONS of personal stories, and of course the thing I love to do most – take photos of beautiful tablescapes 🙂

If you had told me 5 years ago, heck even 3 years ago that I would one day photograph and write my own book, I would have laughed at you in shock. I never considered myself a writer. And honestly I thought this self taught photographer would’ve had to hire a professional if I ever wanted to see my work in print.

This process has taught me so much, and honestly I can’t wait to share more about just that, but if I can tell you anything right now it would be to not give up on your dreams! God knows the desires of your heart, and those things you are passionate about, they aren’t silly – they are your CALLING!

I have so many more exciting things to share with you, I feel like I could just burst with excitement! I want to invite you ALL to come back tomorrow as I share one of the FALL Tablescapes from my NEW BOOK – The Gift of Gathering, releasing on October 1st, 2019!
