Happy Friday friends!!! I had a post all lined up for today, but decided it’s been way too long since I’ve shared a “favorites” post with you. You know the ones that have no rhyme or reason, where I share just what I’m loving right now, or things that have caught my eye! It’s kind of like a mash-up of all the little things that have been making my heart go pitter-pat, so today I’m sharing a little round-up of what I’m currently loving for you!
Allowing our Homes to Refresh Others
Happy Monday friends! Last week was a blur! I had a few more posts planned for last week, and you know what – life happened! And it got me thinking, how often do we allow our homes to refresh others? So today I’m sharing a bit about home, and some heart ramblings from my past week.
Writing Your Dreams Down
Friends, I can’t even begin to tell you how valuable and important this step is! Write your dreams down! If my list of 35 things I wanted to have done by the time I turned 35 was any indication, I’m about to give you some more proof as to why you should take the time to write those dreams down.
It’s ok if you don’t have your Dream House
Holy smokes long title, but there really is just no shorter way of saying it! It is ok if you don’t have your dream house and yes I believe that it makes you a better decorator! I think we all start off with a dream house in mind, at some point in our lives. Heck I still get visions what my dream house would look like. But I bet for most of us we aren’t living in those dream houses we imagined we’d have. And if you are, I am SO happy for you, and I bet there is still a little something you can get out of this post too! So why is it that not living in our dream homes makes us a better decorator?
I felt like a bad Mom
I remember feeling like a bad mom. Not like I made a mistake and feeling remorse, but I remember feeling like I was completely failing as a mom, and that made me a terrible mother. 7 years ago I was in the throws of toddler hood with an 18 – month old and a 3 year old. I stayed at home full time with my babies (still do – only now they are in school), which had always been a dream of mine, ever since I was a little girl.
How I came up with Naming my blog “Rooms For Rent”
This idea stemmed from the last 2 interviews I’ve done, they’ve both asked me this very question. And while I shared a short abbreviated answer there, sometimes it’s nice to have a little more details, or insight perhaps, as to how I came up with the name, and why I chose to stick with it. I guess I should start off first by telling you that I hate naming things! Or having to come up with a name. Seriously, I’d rather do the dishes after Thanksgiving dinner than to come up with a catchy, yet descriptive and very permanent name for something! Talk about pressure.
Happy Valentines Day!
While I don’t have any gift ideas or Valentine’s day crafts to share with you, I did want to take a moment and leave you this note. A thank you note of sorts if you will.

5 Ways your Home can tell your Story
If you caught my post yesterday, then you know I shared how I believe our homes should tell not just any story, but our story. You can read it HERE, in case you missed it, but I pointed out some key pieces in my own home to share how it reflects us. I want our home to tell a story, Our story. While I love finding great buys at HomeGoods and Marshalls, my favorite things to decorate with are those that have a story. So today I’m sharing 5 ways your Home can tell your Story too!
