Hi Friends! I am so excited to spill all the details with you today on my NEW book coming out – The Gift of Home. In case you hadn’t heard I wrote another book! Can you believe it? I’m still marveling over the first one, and to now have a 2nd book baby coming out into the world – somebody pinch me please, because never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever write a book, let along TWO!! This book also feels a tad sentimental because I wrote it while we were still living in our last house. At the time I was writing it I didn’t know just how soon we would be moving, and I feel so thankful to have this keepsake from the house we spent a decade living in and growing our family.
Progress | Embracing Where We Are
Hi friends. Today we are celebrating Progress! And by celebrating I mean, embracing where we are at, right now in this very moment. I’m sure we are all on our journey with something. Am I right?! Maybe we are working towards a new goal, a new number on the scale, or getting back into routine. Or maybe you are working on some home projects just like I am right now? One thing I feel like doesn’t get mentioned or celebrated enough is progress. It’s so easy to get swept up in the before and after. I mean who doesn’t love a good before and after picture? I sure do! Whether it’s of an insane home makeover, or even a weight loss journey, the before and after leaves me in awe every time. But something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately is it’s during the progress that the real work happens. Let me tell you what I mean ~
Thoughts on Home Decor and YouTube episode #3
Hello friends! We have made it through another week! Today officially marks 2 weeks that we have been in our new house, and I can honestly say that we are LOVING every minute of it. This week on YouTube we shared a Final Walk through of our last house – the one you all know and love. And it’s got me thinking….
The Time I thought Throw Pillows were Silly
I know that most men would probably agree with the title of this blog post. I’m pretty sure my husband does as well. I mean, they are just throw pillows? Yet it’s not silly to want to love our homes or Love the spaces we Live in, and find comfort in them. Our homes can impact our emotional well being greatly, and offer us security with how they welcome us in after our a long hard day. So why did I used to think throw pillows were silly? Today I’m sharing the journey of how I went from wondering what the big deal was, to embracing all the power they hold in making our spaces feel just little bit more cozy.

5 Things I’m doing Right Now during Social Distancing
Hello Friends! Today I’m pretending like you and I are sitting down with a cup of coffee. I’d say on my couch in my living room, but since we are all supposed to be social distancing right now I’m thinking that would be considered taboo? So we are just going to have a virtual cup of coffee together instead, and I’m going to imagine we are chatting just like I would be with my closest gal-pal about all the struggles of being home right now, and what I’m doing to stay sane. I came up with 5 things I’m doing right now during social distancing, and hope this helps you as well!
How I added character in our Kitchen
Hello Friends!! So many of you commented on my Kitchen post I shared over the weekend, and it truly is amazing to see how much our kitchen has transformed since we bought this house 9 years ago! ACK! Our kitchen was never in rough shape, it was more like builder quality, had nothing fancy, and was fit with just the basic level quality cabinets. What sold me on our kitchen was that those basic cabinets were white – which meant I didn’t have to paint them, and it was much bigger than our apartment kitchen, and I loved that too! So today I’m sharing how I added character to our kitchen, in the way of transforming our “wall of doors”.
My Real-Life Fear
Welcoming others into our homes takes a certain amount of vulnerability. And whether you are a seasoned pro or a first time host, inviting others into your “safe-space”, can leave us feeling a little exposed at times. I’ll be honest, I’m nervous of what their first impression might be, what they are thinking as they step into our home, whether it’s for the 1st time or 15th time. Keep reading to find out how I push past the fear of perfection when inviting others into our home….
Layering Area Rugs
I mentioned in yesterdays post how one of the ways I love to add layers into my rooms is by layering area rugs. Now I get that this isn’t always doable at first when you are decorating, because affording one new area rug can be pricey on it’s own. But when looking for areas to add more layers to your spaces this is a great way to achieve that layered look we all desire, without over complicating things. Today I’m sharing some of my favorite layered area rug looks.
