Last week, I took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather we have been having this fall to plant my spring bulbs in our blueberry garden area. It was such a treat to work in the garden this late in the season, and I can’t wait to see what pops up in the spring. You will find links to each spring bulb I planted at the bottom of the post in case you want to plant some flower bulbs to enjoy next spring—it’s not too late!
Tabletop Turkey Decor
One of my favorite fall decor staples is my white tabletop turkey. I originally found mine years ago at Target in the clearance section (my favorite spot to hunt for marked-down decor), but since then, I have yet to really see them in the stores. Randomly, I might come across one in HomeGoods, but no place I could share a source online. Until today! Recently, a blog reader asked about my tabletop turkey seen on my fall hutch, and in trying to find her a similar one online, I actually came across a few that I liked. So, I decided to round them up and share them in a blog post in case you might be on the hunt for a tabletop turkey as well!
Welcoming Fall
It is officially fall! I’ll admit that sometimes welcoming fall into our homes feels a bit premature as the summer temps try to hold on a little bit longer, but before we know it, that crisp autumn air has me turning my attention back indoors, and the itch to make our home feel warm and cozy strikes again. As we prepare to welcome fall into our homes, here are a few things I like to do as we transition into the new season.
How to Paint a French Door
Have you ever painted a french door before? You know the ones where the grids are not conveniently concealed by the glass? I have always loved the look of painted interior doors, but painting a french door can feel a tiny bit daunting. Recently I tried something new, and it made painting the french door that leads into our home office a breeze! And here is the best part – it involved no taping! Yep you read that right. I’m sharing these tips today, in case you have a french door you’ve been wanting to paint as well.
Fall Porch | 2023
Fall is in the air, and boy do I have a fun little makeover to show you! A few weeks back I was browsing through FB Marketplace looking for antique foldable chairs, and stumbled across the cutest little bistro table set! Well, it wasn’t cute at first, but I knew this set had plenty of potential. With a good scrubbing, and some spray paint this bistro set got a completely new look, and it fits perfectly in an empty corner we have on our back porch. Come and see ~
Currently Loving vol. 7
Every once in awhile I share this kind of post. A random mash up of all the things I’m loving or crushing on at the moment. While they seem to always have the same flow and feel to them, the things I share in them are completely at random. These posts always end up being my favorite type of posts to share, because I imagine us sitting down, with a nice hot beverage in hand, as we catch up on life and other things 🙂 With the seasonal change right upon us, it felt fitting to share some of things I’m loving right now as we enter into spring!
How To Create a Space You Love | The Gift of Home
pillow that holds your favorite pattern or color? Or maybe it’s a view? I think sometimes it’s easier to pick out the things we don’t like in our homes and focus on those, but what if we flipped the narrative and focused on just one thing we loved about our home instead? Whether it’s a room, or an architectural detail, or a piece you used to decorate inside that room, I hope you all have something in your home that you love. I talk a lot about loving the space you live in, and today to celebrate the release of my new book, The Gift of Home, I’ve asked some blogging friends to join me and share something about their own homes that they love. I also thought it would be fun to kick things off by showing you the progression of our dining room in our previous home as I share some tips on how to create a space you love.
