I think adding layers to your space is one of the best things you can do to really make it feel cozy and inviting. Whether you are layering rugs, or window treatments for adding texture, or a whole bunch of throw pillows on your couch, your creating an atmosphere that everyone is sure to enjoy. I am so excited to share with you today that I have teamed up with Wayfair for another series of Insider Inspiration. Over the next 6 weeks you’ll be able to catch these videos I’ve been putting together, where I talk about inviting spaces, what’s trending now, and my love for home decor. Just to name a few.
Fall Throw Blankets under $50
I’m loving the cooler tones used for fall. It was something I started implementing in last years fall decor. Just to clarify, there is nothing wrong with bringing out orange in the fall. But I crave a more subtle, neutral look. I know it’s not for everyone and that’s ok. I love that we aren’t all alike in our taste. I pick patterns that have a timeless feel to them like houndstooth and herringbone and plaids. They still feel like fall, just not the expected color palette.
Farmhouse Fall Living Room
This year has been about simplifying. Not adding more, but really emphasizing on special details. It’s easy to feel the need to add a ton to your decor when decorating for new seasons, however I chose to make subtle transitions to gradually add fall into our living room. We are back for another round of Farmhouse Holiday Decor Series. Today we are sharing our Living Rooms decorated for fall.
Fall Decorating Vignette
Sometimes the feeling of having to decorate your entire house for fall at once can feel daunting. Like this overwhelming task you’d just rather not start. I like to take it one area at a time. When I’m really struggling for motivation, sometimes just creating a simple fall vignette, will then spill out into the rest of my home and transition my decor from summer to fall. So today I’m sharing a cozy corner from our living room, and easy fall vignette you can create in less than 10 minutes.
Fall Cider Cocktail Recipe
A fun fact about myself is before we had kids I used to be a bartender at a local steak house. I loved the rush and busy-ness of working in a restaurant, and bartending was definitely an exciting factor of that. Plus it was really a lot of fun, and not being a big drinker prior to that, I learned a ton. From how to mix different liquors and different drink recipe staples. This wasn’t a drink that we served at the restaurant, but stemmed from all my experience I gained there. Today I’m sharing my Fall Cider Cocktail Recipe, Who’s thirsty?!

I Need Your Help!
Yes you read that correctly, I need your help! Right now I am in the planning phases for a new blog design. I have my layout picked, but with this change comes more options. Options to make this little site a bit more user friendly. When I first moved my blog over from blogger to wordpress picking a theme was so daunting. Without paying for a custom design, I really had to think about what I wanted my blog to look like. I was so desperate to get to a clean slate, and felt completely …

New Rug in the Dining Room
I finally pulled the trigger on getting a rug for our dining room. I’ve been contemplating different options for a couple years now. Yes YEARS, you read that right. If I’ve learned anything in design, it’s not to rush the process. Don’t make haste decisions that you aren’t 100% confident in. Not only can you potentially waste money, you waste time and energy on a piece that wasn’t meant to be, and it end up stunting your decision to make the right choice because you live with “good enough” for far too long. I actually had a completely different rug picked out for this room, so let me tell you why I ended up pulling the trigger on not only a different color than my original choice, but also a much bolder pattern!
