Today’s Farmhouse Tour Friday is being dubbed a “special edition” because well, it’s special. With fall posts gearing up for the next couple weeks, I’ll be taking a short break from featuring a new farmhouse every week, don’t worry I promise they will be back soon. This is definitely NOT over 😉 So to wrap up the first edition of Farmhouse Friday Tours I wanted to wrap it up with 4 more farmhouse decor feeds I LOVE on Instagram!
I Need Your Help!
Yes you read that correctly, I need your help! Right now I am in the planning phases for a new blog design. I have my layout picked, but with this change comes more options. Options to make this little site a bit more user friendly. When I first moved my blog over from blogger to wordpress picking a theme was so daunting. Without paying for a custom design, I really had to think about what I wanted my blog to look like. I was so desperate to get to a clean slate, and felt completely …

New Rug in the Dining Room
I finally pulled the trigger on getting a rug for our dining room. I’ve been contemplating different options for a couple years now. Yes YEARS, you read that right. If I’ve learned anything in design, it’s not to rush the process. Don’t make haste decisions that you aren’t 100% confident in. Not only can you potentially waste money, you waste time and energy on a piece that wasn’t meant to be, and it end up stunting your decision to make the right choice because you live with “good enough” for far too long. I actually had a completely different rug picked out for this room, so let me tell you why I ended up pulling the trigger on not only a different color than my original choice, but also a much bolder pattern!
My Top Fall Outfit Picks
I don’t consider myself a fashionista, but I do like putting outfits together that are go along with my style, and definitely have a soft spot for accessories. I think anyone who has met me would agree, I don’t dress for trendy, but I do like to be comfortably in style. So I put together a little mood board of one of my favorite fall outfits. August is usually about the time I start craving cooler weather so I can bust out my vest and scarves and boots!

We are currently renting and just moved in a couple months ago. We are planning and hoping to build our own farmhouse very soon! I love to decorate with a modern farmhouse feel. Rustic woods, rusty metals and chippy paint are my faves …
When Comparison Is all Around
It’s really hard not to compare these days. With social media slamming everyone else success’s in our faces, we can easily fall into the trap of comparison without even realizing it. We go from cheering someone on, to slowly starting a downward spin cycle of feelings that tell us we’re “not good enough” or success will never happen for our own personsal goals. So how do we celebrate with someone, or even scroll through social media, without letting those feelings start to consume us.
Kitchen Ceiling Wallpaper REVEALED
You can catch all the details in the “tutorial” post as to why I decided to go with wallpaper vs. real or faux bead board. While I don’t think installing wallpaper to a ceiling is for the faint at heart. Once I figured out the right formula of soaking the wall paper, allowing the paste to activate, and cutting the right lengths, it went up pretty quickly! Are you ready to see the results?!
How to Install Wallpaper on your Ceiling
I have been wanting to add bead board to the ceiling in our kitchen since, OH about FOREVER! There are plenty of options out there for installing bead board, and for the most part non are super pricey. They more differ in difficulty and the tools needed to install. I’ve always loved the look, and even though the hubby was on board, his plate has been so full I couldn’t see him having time any time in the near future to tackle this project. One of the options I always kept in min was using bead board wallpaper, and so that was exactly the route I decided to go. The ceiling in our kitchen was smooth, so using wallpaper was a perfect solution.
