I love finding new homes oozing with farmhouse style. I think it’s no secret around here that I love anything with a farmhouse flair, and I’m sure you probably feel the same way, which is why you are here or why you stick around my little corner of the web. When I started this blog “farmhouse style” was yet to be considered a term, but I think it has poured a strong foundation over the last year or so in the world of interior design. To continue to share my love for farmhouse style homes, I wanted to create a home tour series where I share with you …
We Got Chickens!
Ummm yes, you are reading that correctly! We got chickens. Well technically we’ve had them, but they’ve never made an official appearance on the blog or Instagram for that matter. You may remember in my previous post I mentioned we made an addition to our family, and by addition I mean 5 tiny, fluffy, cuddly chickens. We always talked about having chickens, but I never thought we would actually take the plunge, but after having them for a few months I’m kicking myself for not doing this sooner.
DIY Antique Headboard Bench
I still remember that “AH-HA” moment I had when I finally came up what I was going to do with this antique headboard. It sat in our barn over the winter, and pretty much every time my husband went in the barn he asked what I was going to do with it. I think he wanted it out of his way, but there was no way I was going to let him get rid of it. I knew it would be used for something fabulous, I just didn’t know how I wanted to use it yet. And then, the “AH-HA” moment
Paint Colors in Our Home
I get a lot of questions about the paint colors in our home, and even though I’ve done a post, and created a sidebar image, it seems to go un-noticed. Which is part of what transpired this whole little “Home Page” revamp. Our new Home Page will now include pictures of our home with the paint swatch and color name attached. So much easier right.
Decorating with Wallpaper & a Fun GIVEAWAY
I will be the first to admit, awhile back when I thought about decorating with wall paper I immediately thought of the 70’s and 80’s wall paper that we instantly remove when updating a space. However, wallpaper has come a long way, and can also be the easiest way to add your own personal signature to your space. Whether it’s permanent or removable, there are a lot of options with wall paper now. It’s no longer that dated wall covering we all cringe at the sight of. I know there are still some people who stop me dead in my tracks if I mention adding wall paper, so I wanted to do a round up and show you some beautiful ways wall paper can be added to enhance your decor. I also have a FUN giveaway at the end, so stay tuned!!
Summer Outdoor Dining
Happy Summer Friends! I’m so excited to be teaming up with almost 30 bloggers this week to share our summer spaces with you, along with Birch Lane and Country Living Magazine. Living in the northeast, with bitter winters, it’s no surprise that summer has us begging to stay outside as long as we can.
Updated Kitchen Island
I finally decided to take the plunge and update our kitchen island, by painting it a bold color, and it was so easy. So one night around dinner time, because that’s when projects seem to strike, I grabbed my paintbrush, and my favorite chalk paint color and got to work. Or so I thought….
