Hello Friends!! I’m so excited to be joining in on the Seasonal Simplicity tour again, this time around for the summer series! I loved joining in on the spring series, and it’s always so much fun to see what everyone comes up with. I love having loads of inspiration all teamed up together in one place like this. Today we are all sharing our summer mantle’s with you. You remember my Spring Mantle with faux plants and terra cotta pots. Since I don’t technically have a mantle I decorate in our house, I use my buffet in our dining room to create seasonal vignettes. It’s a great spot because you have to walk through our dining room to get to any other room in our house, so it gets lots of visual activity.
Hi friends! I hope you have been enjoying summer. It feels like such a fleeting season for us here in New England, so I wanted to share a flew glimpse’s of our living room with you, as a way to soak up this last month of summer that we have, before fall comes and the kids head back to school! First though, thank you SO much for all your kind words regarding our Farmhouse Laundry Room Makeover. Like most of you, our laundry room isn’t really a room, but more a wall, lol. This little transformation has made this area in our home much more productive, and I think we can all agree, when it comes to doing chores, when they are more enjoying to do, they get done! In case you missed it, you can see the entire makeover HERE. I still have more to share about the rest of this room, but we have been soaking up summer with trips to the beach, time spent with friends, and just being there for my kids. As much as I love to share things here on the blog, I also recognize that time spent with my kids during these summer days won’t always be there. So this mama is soaking it in while she can 🙂 Now for a look into our summer living room.
Hello Friends! I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July!! We love to get together with family and friends and celebrate. Hosting is one of our favorite things to do, but if you have entertained before you know that sometimes coming up with all the food can be a bit daunting. Sometimes ideas or recipes come right to me, and other times I feel like I’m having a complete brain fart and don’t even know where to start. Today I’m sharing one of my favorite patriotic summer dessert recipes, that no matter what season you are in instantly makes it feel like summer. It’s a slight twist on a classic favorite and is a high demand in our house. I hope you enjoy!
Hi Friends! I hope your summer is off to a great start and in full swing! Our oldest has been away at his first summer camp all week, and this mama’s heart is going through all sorts of emotions about it. I’m sure it’s been a wonderful week, but I’m dying to hug his neck and hear all about it! With the 4th of July quickly approaching, things finally feel like summer has arrived around here, so I wanted to share with you some front porch decorating I’ve done, and how I subtly add some patriotic flare!
With summer on the brain, I’m sharing a few tweaks I did to our home to get ready for the warm months ahead. Of course one of my most favorite ways to decorate is with fresh flowers and greens. Let no branch be left behind, ha ha. You can always find me outside in our yard, or perhaps my neighbors (he he) clipping away and bringing in whatever I find to be placed in a jug, or a jar somewhere throughout our home. I’m joining a few of my blogging friends who are also sharing glimpse’s of their homes for summer as well.
To really make outdoor spaces inviting and comfortable I bring my inside necessities out. This means extra throw pillows, little side tables, nothing is off limits. It’s no secret, we all like twinkle lights!! What better way to help light up the summer night sky than by adding twinkle lights to your backyard?
