Hello Friends! I’m so excited to be sharing my outdoor lilac tablescape with you today along with 13 of my blogging friends just in time for summer get-togethers! If you’re a long time friend of the blog, then you know just how much I love creating tablescapes! I also shared some exciting news about a BIG ‘ol dream of mine coming true in book form HERE not to long ago about tablescapes. Our lilacs are finally in bloom here in New England, and even though they only last what feels like a fleeting moment, I couldn’t resist creating this casual – elegant lilac tablescape outdoors. One of the questions I get asked most often when I share my tablescapes is not where I found a certain tablecloth, or even about the centerpiece I may or may not have made. Nope, not about any of that, believe it or not, it’s about the glass goblets I used at each place setting. More times than not, I’ve found them at HomeGoods, because scouring those shelves in that slice of heaven here on earth store, is one of my favorite things to look for. But it’s not always the most practical when I’m trying to share the source, especially with a blogging friend who is trying to create her own beautiful tablescape, and is desperate to use the same glassware! Well you are in luck!

To me there is nothing more special than being able to connect with friends over a story, and I loved being able to do that with you! In case you missed it, you can read the whole story HERE about my inherited china set, and how this set of plates that sat in basement for years ended up sparking my love to create tablescapes. Some of you had asked about the antique silverware also seen in the photos, so I wanted to share where that came from as well.

I looked at my husband, and he looked back at me utterly confused, and without hesitation I confidently exclaimed “I’ll take them”! I wasn’t exactly sure, and didn’t really know then why I wanted them so badly, I just knew it in my bones – these plates were going to be part of my story. You can imagine the thrill in my husbands voice when he asked me on the car ride home why I said yes, but I just shrugged my shoulders, and replied “They’re just plates”. Meaning how harmful could a few boxes of fine china really be?

I love getting outside after a long cold winter, and planting new plants is such a refreshing feeling with the anticipation of warmer days that comes with Spring. While I still may have a ways to go in my gardening skills outside, I wanted to re-create a gardening party tablescape, by incorporating terra cotta pots, filled with blooming bulbs.

Hello Friends! Today I’m joining in a week long festive holiday home tour, part of the Seasonal Simplicity series with 45 other bloggers, who are sharing parts of their homes decorated for the holidays all week long! Yes you read that right fourty-five! Seriously I think this is the biggest virtual home tour series I have been apart of yet, and it’s hosted by the lovely Krista from the Happy Housie. Seriously I don’t know how she does it all, but I feel lucky just to be able to join in on the fun. I love seeing how others decorate their homes for the holidays, even if their style is completely different from mine, there is so much inspiration to be found. And who knows, sometimes I find a different place to hang a garland, or a different type of vignette to create, I just love to see what others create!
