My Favorite Christmas Trees

Hello friends! Last week as I began pulling bins out of our basement of Christmas decor, I discovered that there had been some water damage. After loosing a large bin of Christmas decor the previous year to water damage, I thought I had stored everything properly so this couldn’t happen again – but I was wrong. I lost two Christmas trees this year to water damage, but I’m happy to report though that I found a new Christmas tree, on Amazon non-the-less, so today I’m sharing some pictures of Christmas trees past, and a round up of some of my favorite Christmas trees, in case you happen to be in the market too.

I have to say, this is always my favorite time of the year in our kitchen. I mean don’t get me wrong, I love our kitchen all year long, but I absolutely love decorating our open shelves for Christmas. It’s really something I look forward too, and find myself a bit sad when it’s time to take it all down. I love spending some time focusing on all the little details, and then how magical they feel once I’m done and they are all festively decorated.

Hello Friends! Well it’s safe to say that the Christmas boxes have begun to make their way out of storage over here. My wheels have been spinning, as I begin to pull together all my thoughts and ideas for how I want to decorate our home for Christmas this year. Of course, I have many things I’m excited to see come out of the bins, but I’ve also picked up a few new pieces as well. One being these cute wooden nutcrackers from Michael’s this year. I wanted to give them a neutral – vintage look, to our Christmas decor this year, so today I’m showing you just how gave these nutcrackers a vintage, whitewashed look.

Hello Friends!! It’s hard to believe that winter is only a few short weeks away. I know for my southern friends, that might seem impossible with you just getting a break from summers heat now, but here in the north the signs are evident! The leaves are falling from the trees, and the rain and winds are bringing in cooler temps, that point to one thing – winter isn’t too far off. Since our landscape gets covered in fluffy white snow, I always like to hang a wreath on my door that will add some green. I can’t believe we are only 2 sleeps away from it being Christmas. Our kids can hardly contain their excitement as we get closer and closer to Christmas day. As we prepare to celebrate over the next few days, with family and friends, I wanted to take a moment to wish each one of you a Merry Christmas also.

Christmas Lights at Night

Christmas is less than a week away, and I can hardly believe it! I really haven’t even begun to wrap my head around the fact, that right behind it is a new year, with all the new possibilities it will bring. I have to say though, I think my favorite part about having our Christmas decor up, is the glow of the white lights at night. That is always the part I miss the most when it comes time to take down the decorations. So to savor every bit of it, I wanted to share some pics of tree all aglow at night, and I’ve teamed up with some blogging friends who are also sharing little bits around their home of Christmas lights at Night. New Years Eve Wet Bar

Hello Friends!!! I can’t believe Christmas is in one week! ONE WEEK! My husband and I went out last night to get the last of the stocking stuffers that we need, and other than one more Amazon order to make – we are done! And it feels so good! I can’t believe with Christmas only a week away, we will be ringing in the New Year before you know it! I have reached the age where I’d much rather stay in and party than go out. Sometimes I make it to midnight, lol, but we love having some friends over and ringing the New Year in together. We recently converted this second-hand cabinet into a wet bar, just in time to help us ring in the New Year. Come and take a look!

Advent Calendar Ideas

Over the past couple of years I have created different Advent calendars at christmas time to celebrate the holiday season. I remember when my kids were toddlers feeling the pressure to do everything the Christmas season had to offer. Make christmas cookies, go caroling, drive around and look at christmas lights. Make sure we watch ALL the christmas movies, get matching christmas pajamas, celebrate advent, attend our churches christmas eve service in our new holiday outfits, and the list goes on and on. What I learned over the years, is what sticks with our kids is not so much the “doing” of all the things, but celebrating the little things. And to me that’s what Advent is all about! Celebrating the anticipation of the newborn King. So today I’m sharing some different Advent Calendar Ideas.
