Hello Friends!! I can’t believe the time has come to include the word “Christmas” in my post titles, but alas we are here. I’m so excited to share our open shelves in our kitchen with you today! They are my favorite place to make festive for the holidays. Honestly, I wish I could leave up the christmas decor on our kitchen shelves all year long, because that is just how much I love it! I recently gave these shelves a little makeover. I took them all down and sanded them and refinished them. To see the process you can click HERE. Here’s a look at how I started bringing Christmas into the kitchen this year.
Styling a Christmas Vignette
One of the things I always do is style our buffet in our dining room to coordinate with the rest of my christmas decor. I get text messages from friends around the holidays with pictures of their buffets, or side tables, or books shelves asking for my design eye to take a look and make sure nothing is missing. I love helping others love the spaces they are in, so I love helping my friends make their homes festive for the holidays too! Vignettes have to be one of my favorite things to do, other than tablescapes of course! So today I’m sharing some photos with you on how I style a christmas vignette.
Christmas in the Dining Room {Part 2.}
Hello Friends! Sometimes I get asked the question, especially after I share an elaborate tablescape post, if my dining room always looks that way? The answer is always NO, because let’s face it, sometimes my dining room table gets lost under the piles of stuff that life can accumulate, to the point where my husband will ask if we still own a dining room table?! Ha Ha! For the most part our dining room looks like it did in the Holiday Housewalk this year. Well when I clean it for company ….
Frosted Winter Tablescape
Hello Friends!! I hope you are good as we countdown to Christmas!! We got our first snowfall over the weekend, with another one happening right now as we speak, so it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here. Today I wanted to share with you the tablescape I created last year for the Better Homes & Gardens Christmas Ideas magazine (still out on newsstands now!). I’m titling this one the “Frosted Winter Tablescape”, because it’s full of “frosted” winter greens like dusty miller, and even some soft succulents, along with plenty of winter greens!
Winter Wonderland Tablescape
Hello Friends! I’m so excited to be sharing a Winter Wonderland Tablescape with you today that I created. We are going to create this exact table for our Christmas eve dinner with the family. It was more per my daughters request, she said it looked just like a winter wonderland, and I quite agree. I’m teaming up with a few blogging friends for a christmas tablescape tour, hosted by Alicia from A Burst of Beautiful, and you are going to love what’s in store for today!
Hot Chocolate Bar
Hello Friends! We have been thoroughly enjoying our weekend. Watching christmas movies, making hot cocoa, and hosting our first holiday party of the season. I don’t know why but during the holidays I crave hot chocolate more than any other time throughout the year. It’s the perfect afternoon treat, and I find the kids craving it just as much as I have been lately. To keep things easy to reach I like to set up a little hot chocolate bar in our kitchen so you can make it whenever the cravings strike!
Holiday Housewalk 2017
Hello Friends!! Happy Friday! I am so excited to be joining in with all of my friends for the final day of the Holiday Housewalk! I’ve had the joy of participating in the housewalk for the last two years, and I am so excited to be joining in again this year!
Christmas in the Office
Today I’m sharing with you how I decorated my home office for Christmas. You may remember seeing some of it in our feature in this years Better Homes & Gardens Christmas Ideas magazine. So today I wanted to show a few more glimpse’s of Christmas in my office.
Christmas Bedroom Sitting Area
I don’t know if I’ve every explained the wonky layout of our bedroom? It’s one of the quirks that came with our 1846 farmhouse, but it doesn’t always make it into photos. Our bedroom is on the smaller size, but that’s because technically it’s two rooms joined together. We have our room where our bed is, and then an angled cut-out on one wall leading to another smaller room. I think it’s more dubbed as a “sitting room”, and earlier this year I took full advantage of it’s name, and finally made it into the Mom-cave. Just past the sitting room is our master bathroom, making it the master suite. So today I want to show you how I added some Christmas cheer to our little sitting area in our bedroom.
