I know I’ve been sharing a lot lately about how much I love to purge and clean out our spaces during these winter months. Once the holidays are behind us, and all the Christmas decor is brought back down to the basement, I love to look at the rooms in our home with a fresh set of eyes. Naturally all the blank spaces left behind from holiday decorations being taken down has me wanting to refresh our space. So today I’m sharing 5 ways you can refresh your space, with little to no money being spent.

Hello Friends! I don’t know about you, but this time of year is my favorite time to re-evaluate our homes current state. I like to go through each room and take note of the things in there I truly love, and what I’m not loving so much. It’s the perfect time to really take note of what we have in our homes, and it also helps me define my style a little bit better. When I don’t have anything seasonal out, and there are no upcoming holidays, I really get a true sense for how our home is decorated. If you are in feeling that same way, then be sure to check out my post below, Does Your Home Tell Your Story. Also rounded up in todays post are some other great decorating tips, and decluttering ideas you are definitely going to want to check out!
Modern Farmhouse Floor Plan | Round-Up
I love floor plans! Like guys, I really LOVE floor plans. From a very early age I loved looking at floor plans. Planning out the layout for each space, and designing it with the finishing touches in my head. I shared in my very first round-up post of floor plans I love how much I really LOVE just looking at floor plans and it turns out so do a lot of you too, because those round-ups are always close to the top of the list of my most viewed posts. So today I wanted to share some of my favorite modern farmhouse floor plans from before, because guess what?! I have a whole round up of BRAND NEW modern farmhouse floor plans to share with you next week!
Goals for 2020
At the beginning of every year there are 2 things I share here on the blog, a look back over the previous year we just finished, and a look forward into the new year we are just starting! I love looking back, because I am always reminded of so many accomplishments I did the year before, that have somehow slipped my mind. And I love pausing to put some thought into goals that I have for the new year, as I continue to push forward and grow in my business and in life. I haven’t always shared my personal goals, I more often focus on goals I have for our house, but this year I’m sharing both! Goals I have for 2020, in our home, in my business and for my life.
How I Refresh our Entire House for the New Year
I’ve been sharing this week how our home is currently in “clean state” mode. The last of the Christmas decor bins have been brought down to the basement. I put away any of the throw pillow covers that I used for Christmas, and have found myself in no rush to bring back my everyday decor I had out before Christmas. Sometimes it’s nice to start the new year off with a clean slate visually and mentally in our homes. Not allowing anything to rush us into making decisions too quickly, or decorating for that matter. Nothing that visually clutters our mind, but really just allows us a little breathing room.

Hello Friends! I hope your New Year is off to a great start! I have been embracing this post-holiday slow down by just being content with where things are at in our home. Not rushing to put decor back up after all the Christmas decor has come down, but just really allowing the blank canvas of our homes current state to have time to breathe, which is also allowing me to take a step back and breathe also. It feels so refreshing after a season of hustle and bustle to now enjoy a season of rest. There are so many fun decorating ideas in todays post, and if you are struggling with your homes decor, make sure you click on my post at the bottom Knowing Where to Start with your Home.
Our Living Room throughout the Year
Hello Friends!! With the holidays behind us, I brought the last bins of Christmas decor down to our basement – today! Thankfully, it was mostly the Christmas decor from the kids room, but it feels so good to have the house back down to a clean slate. I just finished swapping over my pillow covers, back to something neutral for the winter months, and it got me thinking about all the little changes I do in our living room throughout the year. I know you see it when I share our living room for each seasonal tour, but I thought it would be fun to point out how I change things from season to season, all rounded up in one post. Sort of a Before & After, but more or less just the After’s. So today I’m sharing the different looks our living room has throughout the year.
