I’m loving the cooler tones used for fall. It was something I started implementing in last years fall decor. Just to clarify, there is nothing wrong with bringing out orange in the fall. But I crave a more subtle, neutral look. I know it’s not for everyone and that’s ok. I love that we aren’t all alike in our taste. I pick patterns that have a timeless feel to them like houndstooth and herringbone and plaids. They still feel like fall, just not the expected color palette.
Farmhouse Fall Living Room
This year has been about simplifying. Not adding more, but really emphasizing on special details. It’s easy to feel the need to add a ton to your decor when decorating for new seasons, however I chose to make subtle transitions to gradually add fall into our living room. We are back for another round of Farmhouse Holiday Decor Series. Today we are sharing our Living Rooms decorated for fall.
Fall Decorating Vignette
Sometimes the feeling of having to decorate your entire house for fall at once can feel daunting. Like this overwhelming task you’d just rather not start. I like to take it one area at a time. When I’m really struggling for motivation, sometimes just creating a simple fall vignette, will then spill out into the rest of my home and transition my decor from summer to fall. So today I’m sharing a cozy corner from our living room, and easy fall vignette you can create in less than 10 minutes.

Farmhouse Toolbox Vignette
One of my favorite tricks for adding decor into the dining room is removing all the plastic wrap from candle sticks, and then placing them in a clear vase. It’s decor but practical at the same time because they are at hands reach when you want to have a candle light dinner. Come see how I incorporate it into a simple farmhouse vignette in our dining room …
Farmhouse Tour Friday {vol.1}
I love finding new homes oozing with farmhouse style. I think it’s no secret around here that I love anything with a farmhouse flair, and I’m sure you probably feel the same way, which is why you are here or why you stick around my little corner of the web. When I started this blog “farmhouse style” was yet to be considered a term, but I think it has poured a strong foundation over the last year or so in the world of interior design. To continue to share my love for farmhouse style homes, I wanted to create a home tour series where I share with you …
Summer Outdoor Dining
Happy Summer Friends! I’m so excited to be teaming up with almost 30 bloggers this week to share our summer spaces with you, along with Birch Lane and Country Living Magazine. Living in the northeast, with bitter winters, it’s no surprise that summer has us begging to stay outside as long as we can.
Different types of Art for your walls
As I said in my last post, knowing what to hang on your walls can prove to be tricky sometimes. Today I’m going to highlight different art I have on my walls, and hopefully provide you with some inspiration for different types of art for your walls too! Again I will say, that I love framing family photos, especially large prints, but I’ve found if I’m doing a mix of different sized frames, I need to mix up what I put in those frames as well. For instance …
Simplifying our Built-Ins
If you are new here, or visiting for the first time, I started the process of Simplifying our Living Room in the beginning of the year. I had shared how lots of elements in the space just started to make it feel like the walls were closing in, and I was craving a simpler feel. It’s a hard balance to find when you aren’t quite a minimalist but don’t want to be the queen of “collectives” either 🙂 I made some fun DIY Abstract Art to help calm the walls down, and today I’m going to show you more of the built-ins between our living room and dining room…..
