One of things I like to do is celebrate with my peers when they have something to get excited about! I think in this creative business it can be hard some times to stay focused, and not compare to what so-and-so is doing, so I like to take every opportunity I can to celebrate some one else’s success. After all I did just recently talk about this, and shared this quote on how to : [Read more…]

I’m so excited to be back today sharing another beautiful farmhouse tour! One of the things I love most about farmhouse style decor is it’s relaxed feel and easy living vibe that lets all of us put our own spin on it. While we all have similarities, in farmhouse decor you get to personalize your look all on your own, which makes seeing every home, inspirational! Todays tour is nothing short of inspirational, and I know you are going to love it too! [Read more…]
I love finding new homes oozing with farmhouse style. I think it’s no secret around here that I love anything with a farmhouse flair, and I’m sure you probably feel the same way, which is why you are here or why you stick around my little corner of the web. When I started this blog “farmhouse style” was yet to be considered a term, but I think it has poured a strong foundation over the last year or so in the world of interior design. To continue to share my love for farmhouse style homes, I wanted to create a home tour series where I share with you a “new-to-me” home that oozes with charm and character, and quite frankly I just can’t get enough of! I know I already shared my highlights from 2015, but I thought it would be fun if I round up a few of my friends and interviewed them to see what their favorite projects from 2015 were, and what is one project they are looking forward to accomplishing in 2016. Sounds fun right?! Let’s get started! [Read more…]

Happy Monday Friends!!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend!! I had something pretty amazing happen over the weekend on Instagram, and I will be back tomorrow to share more on that. Don’t worry it’s nothing ground shaking, we aren’t getting our own HGTV show (because that seems to be the trend lately), but something to me on a much deeper level, and I can’t wait to share more on that tomorrow. Speaking of Instagram thought, I have another installment of Houses on Instagram! With so many blogs out there these days, it’s not as common for you to cross paths as much as it was in the earlier days of blogging. That’s another reason I love instagram. You can cross paths with so many people you might of never seen online, but in this closer knit community of people, some blog, some don’t, but we are all there with one common purpose. We love home decor, and encouraging one another. That’s why I started this series. To share beautiful homes with all of you, that I found from Instagram, and have grown to love their feeds, and the beautiful people behind them. [Read more…]
Ohhh Friends, did we have a fun, busy, exhausting, exciting, blessed weekend!! If you caught my post last week, than you knew we were headed out to do the Lowe’s Fall Makeover. We left Thursday, the hubby and I, and came back late late last night. Our flight there was delayed, setting us back quite a bit, and our flight home was delayed. So I think it’s safe to say we will be laying low the next couple of days and catch up on some much needed sleep 🙂 It was so much fun, we had a fantastic time from start to finish, and I can’t wait to share the reveal with all of you!! Today we have another installment of Houses on Instagram. For our second house in this new series we have the lovely Melinda from House 214. When I first stumbled across her feed, I adored her farmhouse kitchen, and basically drooled over every detail, and I think you will love it too!! [Read more…]
One of the things I think I love the most about Instagram, is connecting with other people! It’s instant, it’s easy, and I have made so many connections with people I probably normally wouldn’t have crossed paths with, or had the opportunity to chat with! As much as I get wonderful comments from people who find my house on Instagram, I feel like I find just as many wonderful new people on IG. To me it doesn’t matter how many followers somebody has, it’s their pictures that speak for them! And you all know what it’s like to stumble across a feed of a “new to you” account and stop dead in your tracks! Well yeah, I feel the same exact way! So I’ve recently reached out to a few of those feeds and asked if I could share their beautiful home tours on here with all of you! And you know what they said … “YES!” So I’m so excited to kick off a new series here on the blog, called “Houses on Instagram”, because lets face it, I probably wouldn’t have seen them if it wasn’t for Instagram, and I just absolutely L.O.V.E. their spaces! Happy Monday Friends!! I am so excited, because today I am talking with Jenna Burger in her amazing series : Creating a Meaningful Home. This is the 3rd year, and she kicked things off last monday with Mandi @ Vintage Revivals. I love this series, and what it means to create a meaningful home. It goes so much deeper than just filling a space.
“Long before I blogged, or even knew about blogs, creating a meaningful home was always on the forefront of my mind. As a child I dreamed about being an interior decorator, but it wasn’t until I had my very own place, as a young, newly married bride, that I was able to really put into practice putting thought behind the items I decorated with. It was so much more than just filling a room with pretty things. I wanted our home to be inviting and welcoming, not only to guests, but to my husband as well. Establishing a retreat from the rest of the world that was personable to just us. Once we had kids, and I was home full time, it was time to shake off the dust of that dormant dream of being an interior decorator.” ~Bre Doucette

Right before all the holiday craze, I was asked by the beautiful Kennesha, over at Restoration House Interiors to share my story. I’ve always gone back and forth with sharing more intimate details here on the blog, wondering how many of you who come to visit for beautiful pictures of interiors and pretty decorated room, really want to read more intimate details on my faith and how I got to where I am today.
