Hello friends! I get it, this year has been nuts. Honestly I didn’t think for one minute that we would still be dealing with these circumstances come Thanksgiving, but alas here we are. I know we all have our reservations about how things look moving forward, but one thing I know for sure, is that I will not hold back on making our Thanksgiving table feel special for my family this year! Regardless of who is and isn’t gathering around your table this year for Thanksgiving I wanted to share some simple tips for making it feel special. Something I think we are all longing for right about now.
It’s no secret that I love creating tablescapes, but especially during the holidays! I know this year it kind of feels like the wind has been sucked out of our sail. But even if this holiday season is just spent with your immediate family, remember how special it feels when there has been a place set at the table just for us?
The warm invitation, knowing we have a place we belong~
Think about ways you can add tiny details to make it feel special. Maybe it using those fancy plates you have saved for special occasions? Or simply setting the table ahead of time with flatware and glasses so your table boasts a warm welcome. Remember it doesn’t always have to be elaborate details that make it feel special.
I love scattering my table with tiny white pumpkins, and little glass ornaments or mercury glass votives to make things sparkle. Somehow candles make everything feel more special, isn’t that just the best?! You can use your everyday plates, and paper napkins, but throw a few lit candles in the mix and instantly you have an elegant table ready to dine at.
Sometimes the only thing we need to dress up our table from an everyday occasion to a special holiday event is a tablecloth. HomeGoods is my favorite place to hunt for an affordable linen tablecloth, but you know I’ve also been known to use a curtain, or throw blanket, or even some cut fabric by the yard. Get creative. Think outside the box.
Think of creative ways you can incorporate some special touches to your Thanksgiving table today!
