Yesterday I shared what felt like the longest post ever with a never ending list of photo inspirations that I have for boy bedrooms and girl bedrooms. At the end of that long list I shared the mood board I made for my own kids shared bedroom. So today I wanted to give you some more details about that space.
First off Bedding! :
I love anything with a ticking stripe, so when Target came out with this threshold line, I was all over it. Plus they have to be some of the softest sheets ever.

This gingham style sham caught my eye for bringing in a different pattern, and purchased the bedskirt based off of that.

Next for their main comforter, my kids both LOVE quilts. I’m not sure if it’s the weight of them, or the feeling, or both, but they love them. They are perfect in all seasons. My problem has been I can’t find any right now for a twin size bed for under $100 ๐ Since just about everything in their room we already had (other than the sheets), my splurge was going to be the down comforters coming up next. So the search continues, and when I say I have looked everywhere, I have looked EVERYWHERE for plain white quilts for a twin size bed.

Next, probably my most favorite thing about the whole space are the duvet covers I have picked out. These also will really help define whose space is whose.
I love the colors of these garment dyed linen duvet covers from RH baby & child. Subtle enough, each one speaking to it’s own gender, but still blend together well.
Onto some curtains :
I love this wide striped duvet cover from Land of Nod, but since I already had enough patters on the bedding, it’s my inspiration for their curtains. Which I totally diy’ed with some painters drop cloths, can’t wait to share with you.
Furniture :
Another diy project I tackled, was painting some headboards I inherited.
I kept going back and forth on a what color, until I saw Claire’s headboard painted in ASCP Graphite = SOLD. I absolutely loved the outcome of hers, I immediately e-mailed her for more details, and was so happy with her report.
At the ends of both beds I would love to get these wicker chests from IKEA. I love the look of them (you might remember from my inspiration pics.) and the function they give as well.
I can’t wait to show you have to space has already started coming together. Next up some before pics, followed up with progress, and how things look now. If you follow me on Instagram, then you have might have seen some project pics I’ve shared throughout the summer as I started working on their space. You can always check out my Kids Board on Pinterest for more fun pics, and of course inspiration.
