Seasons of Home : Spring Tour

Have you guys enjoyed all the lovely spring inspiration from these ladies this week? I sure have!! Today the lovely Ella Claire and I sharing how we are bringing in spring and Blooming with Color.

If you are visiting for the first time, Welcome!! I’m so glad you stopped by, and if you’ve been around for a while we all know how my favorite color is white, right?!?!!? HA HA HA, so since bright colors are not necessarily my go to right away, I like to swap out anything that I had out for the winter months, and brighten things up, with lighter tones and spring blooms.

Since I have a mostly neutral background, simple changes pop. It also gives me the opportunity to swap out throw pillows and other accessories rather easily. Which always freshens up any space!
First up is the dining room! I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate spring than having brunch with friends. It has been such a long rough winter here, we all kind of get used to hibernation mode. A spring brunch is the perfect reason to come out, and celebrate the new season.
I have a serious LOVE for anything lemon flavored. This blueberry lemon loaf does not disappoint, it’s so moist and rich in flavor, the perfect compliment with coffee or tea.

I filled the table with spring blooms in yellow and green, some faux succulents and moss, and of course some white dishes to finish this off.

When hosting guests, I always find it easier when you have a designated drink station. Stocked with all the essentials, it keeps congestion out of the kitchen, and makes everything easy to find for guests to serve themselves.

Stocked with barn napkins, paper straws, and glasses you are ready to serve just about any beverage, and the decanter makes that part easy and stylish.

I filled an old maple syrup bucket with some faux hydrangea stems, the napkins and straws were from HomeGoods last year, and the glasses are stamped “certified recycled glass” from TJMaxx. When I saw them I bought every singe one they had, just in case one breaks. I still see versions of them pop up here and there, but they are not a regular item in the store.

I have a problem with buying little creamers. I don’t know why? Maybe it’s like how baby shoes always look so cute compared to adults? These little creamers are like “baby” pitchers for me, and I just can’t resist.

So when it comes time to entertain they are the first thing I grab to use as caddy’s for cutlery or anything else I might need. Using a basket to hold plates, and silverware, and napkins makes it easy to move around, and keep everything you need in one spot.
Below you can seen our mantel  behind the table, which I shared with you on wednesday. You can read about how we recently made our new farmhouse table here. I have so much more space now on the table to work with, serve and entertain!

In the living room, spring for me is having fresh flowers in the house. And that’s exactly what I did here.
You may notice some new throw pillows? When I sold our previous rug (you can read about the here), I passed along my navy and white chevron pillow covers too. They just seemed to go better with that rug. I used a gift card I got for christmas to purchase some new ones I found from H&M.

The grey & white striped ones, and the grey “vintage edition” are from H&M. The faux grain sack pillows I made (tutorial found here), and the blue and white striped one in the middle of the couch is IKEA. I think this is the first time I have pictures up with the “new” mirror and everything isn’t covered in christmas stuff.

I got the mirror last summer from HomeGoods, and am still head over heels. You can also see in the photo above how I pulled in the rug from the dining room, until I find something that I like better for the living room.
Keeping everything light and bright is the focus. I recently added some new frames to add our most recent family photos. The top one is from Target, and the bottom chippy one the hubby made from old base boards we had lying around.

Although things overall feel neutral, it feels light and bright, which is always one thing I really look forward to in spring. Winters here can tend to be dark and grey most of the time, so seeing the sun shine in, is a welcomed gift.

Thank you so much for stopping by, and seeing how I welcomed spring into our home. I’m so thrilled to join in with the other fabulous ladies as part of the Seasons of Home. If you missed anyone or want to take the tour again feel free to click on any of the links below.
