Hello Friends!! It feels so good to finally be writing posts about spring! Even though we just got about 10 inches of heavy, wet snow on Monday, my heart is soaring knowing that Spring is really coming, especially with day light savings being this weekend! I can’t wait for longer days, and warm sunshine, and all the sounds of nature waking up after a long winter. Today I’m joining in with 28 other bloggers as we share how we decorated our mantles for spring part of the Seasonal Simplicity Spring series.
Since I don’t have a traditional mantle, the buffet in our dining room ends up being my “mantle” of choice to decorate. It’s the first place I go to when I want to change things up seasonally, and since the drawers serve it’s purpose for storage, the top of the piece is all mine to decorate however I choose!
This year I was really drawn to two things – Adding pops of green, and incorporating more blue. I’m not sure if incorporating more blue is because of the new color on the walls in our dining room, or just because it’s my color of choice when it comes to adding in a fresh new hue.
I picked up these faux stems from Michael’s at the same time I grabbed my faux greens for my front door hanging basket, you can see HERE in case you missed it.
I shared on my IG stories last week these cute little cement pots I found at Target in the value section. They have the cutest variety, including these very simply cylinder ones. I love the texture that cement adds, and of subtle color along with it.
I added in some pops of blue with the candle tapers, and blue strand of beads draped in the basket. It’s subtle, but just enough to carry the color throughout my vignette.
I used old books to fill in around the other items, as they add a nice neutral element, and also added another little cement pot with a faux succulent on the other side, this one also from Target.
I also recently DIY’d this lamp! Since we moved the lamp that was in here, into the kitchen – read all about that HERE, I needed to find a replacement for the one in the dining room.
I decided to update some lamps I had in our bedroom that we were no longer using, and have to say I’m in love with the outcome!! I’ll be back tomorrow to share how I painted these lamps to get the look you see here.
Today I’m joined by a fabulous group of blogging friends who are also sharing their Spring Mantel or a Springy Vignette in their home as part of the Seasonal Simplicity Spring Series! You’re going to love all this springy inspiration…

Love the mix of blues and wood tones! So pretty. I do not have a real mantle either, but your vignette inspired me to rethink other areas of my home!

I love the new spring look on that beautiful small dresser. Also, my favorite thing is when you share what other bloggers have done with their space. So many different looks on a common theme.
I do have a mantle, but also have a cat that loves nothing more than knocking everything off that mantle, one at a time. She even managed to push a heavy mirror off one time. Luckily I was in Supergirl mode and caught it in mid-air.

Oh my word, what a mischievous cat!! LOL! I like using my buffet, because it forces me to think outside of the box sometimes when decorating it 🙂 And I’m so glad you like seeing what other bloggers do! I think there are so many great decor ideas out there, I love doing group tours together because it gives so much pretty inspiration at once 😉

Bre, I love your use of neutrals. I’ve always considered blue a neutral color – probably because it is my favorite! I love how you brought in just a touch of color with the candlesticks and greenery. Pinned so that others can see the beauty in your simplicity as well!

It’s my favorite color too Tauni!! So glad you loved it, the pops of blue just make me happy 🙂
