Hello Friends!! Summer is so close I can hardly stand it! With just a week and a half left of school, I am ready to abandon our schedules and morning routines for the slower pace of summer ๐ Everything is bright and green outside, with all the leaves back on the trees, just in time to usher in those warm summer breezes. To celebrate the arrival of summer, I’m sharing my summer vignette today! Come and see….
I’m so excited to be teaming up with 20 other bloggers who are also sharing their summer mantle & vignette styling ideas, part of the Seasonal Simplicity | Summer Series tour hosted by Krista from The Happy Housie.
Since we don’t have a mantle, I use the dresser turned buffet in our dining room as a place to create seasonal vignettes. Since the dresser holds all of my table linens and extra pieces I use for entertaining (see how I organized it HERE), the top is used just for decor, which gives me a nice big surface for creating vignettes.
I love decorating with shades of blue for summer, so this year I decided to fill an arrangement of assorted recycled glass jars, found at HomeGoods, that are in the lightest shade of blue, sort of resembling the look of sea glass.
I began by stacking a few of my coffee table home decor books for a pop of color, and to give me some height for my vignette.
A quick walk through our woods out back, and I was able to clip all the ferns I needed. Summers gift from nature, all on display. It’s one of the things I love most about summer, being able to walk around, with clippers in hand, snipping anything that catches my eye.
Once my jars were in place, and filled with ferns, it was still missing something for me. I added some organic texture to fill in the gaps and balance out all the smooth glass with rocks and driftwood I’ve collected over the years from all our summer trips to the beach!
I love the vintage detail that each recycled glass jar has etched on them. I found them in the kitchen storage area at HomeGoods where other jars and containers are, and every time I see them, a few always end up in my cart.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who like stones and driftwood as accessories. Nice job.

Love ferns for summer. They introduce a cool refreshing feel to any summer decor. How lovely that they are only steps away from the house.
Pinned!
