Hello friends!! I am SO excited to finally be sharing my Hubby’s finished office space with all of you today!! Of course I was thrilled at the chance to put my design skills to use in a more modern masculine space. While my husband pretty much lets me decorate our home how I please, creating a space for him that was more masculine was my goal. Creating a space that was both warm and professional was the goal, because after all this is where he runs his business, holds weekly meetings with his employees, and also has the occasional customer stopping by as well. So keeping all of those things in mind while come up with the design plan was key. I can’t wait to show you what I came up with and how this space took shape!
Come and see this Masculine Office Reveal with Raymour & Flanigan~
Thank you to raymourflanigan.com for kindly sponsoring this post. All opinions are 100% honest & completely my own.
You may remember last summer my husbands business moved to a new office space, and it was a total start from scratch job getting the office space ready! I first shared about the space HERE, in it’s construction state, and the design plan for his office.
Before
After
I painted all the walls in the main reception area Repose Gray by Sherwin Williams, and the reception booth got a little facelift as well. Before it had faux bead board paneling, that was in pretty rough shape. We were able to salvage some of it, and what we weren’t we replaced with sheets of bead board in the plywood section. We trimmed it out with 1×4’s, and then painted it Cyberspace by Sherwin Williams.
You can’t really tell in the photos, but we also replaced the forest green granite countertop with a medium gray granite, for a more up-to-date look.
When they first moved in last fall, the reception area felt pretty empty.
Remember, I still wanted to achieve a warm, welcoming feel, because customers do stop by, as well as vendors for meetings. Even though it’s an office space, I was still determined it could have a warm, masculine feel, while still feeling professional.
I was so thrilled to be able to partner with Raymour & Flanigan, and collaborate together on this space to help me achieve the look I was after! A visit to their local showroom made finding just the right piece a breeze! Their staff was so helpful and pleasant to deal with, honestly it was refreshing to have such amazing customer service.
I chose the Berkley leather sofa(found HERE) and chair (found HERE) in a beautiful cognac color for the main reception area. It is clean lined, and has a slightly modern leg, but wasn’t too modern for the space.
I went with leather originally because of the durability, but the moment I touched the leather on this sofa and chair, I was immediately convinced by the quality that this was the best choice.
The best part about ordering the furniture, is the quick shipping Raymour & Flanigan provides. Delivery in two days or less, on all in stock items, 7 days a week, with no assembly required. I’ve ordered furniture from multiple different places before, so I can vouch that not all furniture is shipped the same. Raymour & Flanigan delivery crew where so nice and polite, and I didn’t have to pay extra for them to bring the furniture inside, that most other places tag on as “white glove”.
It has a worn in look, but not too faded, and a nice rich color. It also doesn’t leave indents in the cushions after someone sits, so it’s always looking clean and polished.
I finished off the space with a few things from HomeGoods for a warm welcome.
Next up, the Hubby’s Office
Their new office space includes the reception area I just showed you, along with 2 private offices, a workspace for the technicians, and a large storage room in the back for all their job materials. I shared the tutorial for how we painted the shiplap in his office HERE, but never got a chance to show you how the space came together once it was fully finished.
My husband already had his desk and filing cabinet from before that I had helped him pick out, but other than that his office was left feeling pretty uninspiring.
After
Other than an office desk and chair, sometimes knowing how to decorate an office space can be tricky. Not wanting to add clutter, but also not wanting the space to feel empty either.
One of the ways I did this was with this Etagere bookshelf from Raymour & Flanigan. It’s real wood, and came with the distressed wood finish you see here. It adds warmth with the wood tone, and extra space for storage when needed.
I filled his bookshelves with his prized baseball memorabilia, some faux plants – because let’s be honest, and some baskets and crates to store catalogues and pamphlets so they are easily accessible, but out of sight.
Next up where these club chairs I found on Amazon. He needed additional seating for private meetings, but also wanted something more masculine than typical office chairs. These club chairs are comfy, but don’t take up as much space as larger arm chairs would, and remind me of an old worn-in baseball glove.
The rug was from a Pottery Barn outlet store, we scooped up last summer, while the curtains and other desk accessories are from HomeGoods.
I went with a slightly lighter paint color in my husbands office space, but one that coordinated with the colors we used throughout the rest of the space as well. Crushed Ice for the walls, and Grays Harbor on the shiplap, both from Sherwin Williams.
One more Before & After view –
Honestly, it’s hard to believe I am finally sharing this project. After construction delays, projects taking longer to complete than expected, and everything getting put on hold due to Covid-19, it feels great to finally share the reveal!

He is so lucky to have a decorator with his interest in mind. You have him all set up for the cold months ahead. All you need now is one of those electric fireplaces to blend with his work schedule. Every thing looks very masculine …a great job.
